FX25B Envelope Filter Review: You won't see bassists use this effect much outside funk and... | DOD | Bass Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The DOD FX25B Envelope Filter delivers that funky, 70s vibe without the hefty price tag. While it does exhibit some volume and low-end drop, especially noticeable with guitars, its organic filter sound remains a standout feature. The pedal pairs well with gain and offers a fuller, thicker tone, making it a favorite for funk and rock genres. Built to last, its durability is impressive, even after a decade of use. However, one must be cautious with adapters, sticking to DOD's own for reliability. Despite minor drawbacks, this pedal's ease of use and vintage charm make it a worthy addition for those on a budget.

The Signature Sound

The sound of this pedal is a must for the funk sounds of 1970 -1980 music. So to get that certain sound description correct close to the original records I've sung on in the past this is a must-have pedal. It helps fulfill the catalog with its many uses.

It's a nice one

I enjoy it well, but I always run into too much bass or too much treble (maybe I don't know how to dial it correctly). But, needless to say it plays great on my guitars/bass.

eddbass

Great funky pedal

This one is a great pedal for funky stuff and soloing, it just lacks some volume when engaged.
