Reaktor and Kontakt are at the heart of this bundle - two potentially limitless tools with their modular design. But therein lies the potential problem for me...there is a temptation with such tools (and this applies to Max/MSP or similar too), to get lost in endless programming and a 'because I can' mindset and lose the focus on what you're ultimately trying to do, which is make music! If you're a sound designer or programmer by nature though, this isn't an issue, and you WILL need these tools at some point in your career. Reaktor scores over Max for pure synthesis every time...it just sounds way better.
Massive is obviously an important synth, but for me its sound is now so ubiquitous that I tend to shy away from using it...I can't help but associate it with dubstep remixes and Lady Gaga records! But again, if that's your thing!
Guitar Rig is superb and I use it all the time as a general 'go to' fx box. And the bundled content - the organs, the pianos, the Abbey Road drums - are wonderful at this price point. Whether or not you like the NI sound, you can't deny that this bundle is superb value for money.
Other than the price, I have nothing but praise for this collection. I have the ultimate and will probably upgrade again to the latest Komplete 12 Ultimate as soon as there is any sale.
