I spent ages looking for the perfect Pick
After seeing the hype of these pick i just had to buy one, And i totally understand it. Although pricier than your Jazz III's these picks (i use master finished) are just perfect, they dont wear nearly as easily and you have total control of the string. I challenge another pick to compare!!

Well worth it. They are all hand made in california but the master finish (un-polished) ones have a very satisfying way of leaving the string. I work best with the 2mm ones personally but everyone to their own!

Worth the price.
I wanted a budget but effective transparent OD and after seeing the reviews of this £20 was a good investment. It's a direct Copy of an Xotic BB Preamp. And not a bad one at all

I don't know I would call any Xotic drives transparent, but ymmv... I personally gave my BB preamp to a friend for xmas because I thought it colored my sound in an undesireable way

I personally haven't actually used any of the Xotic pedals but the circuitry inside is identical except for some cheaper components being used. I in general use it just with a little bit of gain and it seems to hold up pretty well.

THE Practice amp.
This Amp is ultimate tool for any budding musicians. It has 12 amp models with a variety of built in pre-sets. A range of effects. All the controls you could ever need but it also can be used as a PA for keyboards/Microphones/Acoustic guitars. It can be used for bass practice (wouldn't suggest using at full for bass). It has a 12" Custom Celestion speaker and a 2" Tweeter. The Amp also has a line out and a recording function so for recording a basic band set up this could quite easily be everything between the instruments and the mixing software. Well worth the money.

Best Strings I've ever used.
The nyxl's play good out the packet. they feel almost lived in already. They hold their tunings well and bend like crazy. its stated that these ones last longer and I'm yet to see one break. I'm going to be using them across all my instruments.

Great tuner.
Very accurate and aesthetically pleasing tuner. I dropped mine in coffee so not water proof..... Oops

Interesting Short Scale
A friend of mine was gifted this by a family member who was the original owner but it was put in the attic and forgotten about. When he discovered it the bridge was screwed and was in need a repair. He gave it to me as he had no want for it and after replacing the bridge and Straightening the neck, with a set of D'addarios on it it plays surprisingly well. I plug it in every so often for a more vintage feel. The leather coated humbuckers are a nice touch.

Usefull
Good all round bass amp, Ultrabass function works well. Affordable and can easily keep up with a loud drummer.

Pleasantly Surprised.
I had heard that the Harley Benton copies where pretty decent and I had been wanting to have a shot of a 5 string for a while so ordering one of these from Thomann was a no-brainer. I didn't expect much I just wanted to see if iI would make good use of the extra string. I have to say I was greeted with a well built instrument built with proper materials and that plays well. It came strung out of the box with D'Addario EXL 45-130's and was fully intonated. For a fully contoured bass with tummy cut, Modern d-shape neck and an Active/Passive (push pull) pair of humbuckers. Can it get better than £115?

Works well with it's brother.
I use the 85 in pair with the 81 and it is just the perfect set up for all your metal needs. You can get some blazing hot distortion and some crisp cleans as well. I plan on using them in future shred machines! What else is there to say?

Do I need anything else?
I blindfold tested 6 bass's I was interested in and this one just clicked with me, the neck profile makes it as easy to play as a guitar, The body is contoured perfectly thin so it sits against you comfortably whether seated or standing. The CAP EXF-N2 Pickups give a huge range of tones and are so easy to work using the 3 band EQ. The bass is a gorgeous Sapphire Blue with Cosmo black hardware. Couldn't recommend higher!

HIT ALL THE THINGS
I bought this second hand from someone on the other side of the country and it was totally worth it. Not only do the shells look awesome but the resonate well and tune easily. I play a range of styles and I don't think I'll replace them until I can afford custom gear.

Worth every penny.
I've heard a lot of people argue over these so I'm just going to give my personal opinion. I think these are great for playing blues, They can handle cleans and a bit of grit, although muddy at tmes i wouldn't call that a bad thing. would happily use them again.

muddiness is universally bad unless you aren't sure about what you are playing. The longer I play the more definition I seek from my gear even when heavily distorted! nice review though....

Great for the price.
For £179.99 you get a study built 4x10 cab loading with Celestion Tube 10's. The Blue Tolex Compliments the tweed front panel for a different yet still nice stack. Gorgeous clean tones and awesome classic rock sounds.
41016
I think that's more of a 60s marshall brown cloth, tweed is... well, TWEED, too thick for grill cloth. That's the loth Marshall used between pinstripe and salt and pepper... great look

Yeah I wasn't really sure how to explain it cause when its out the box its al ot lighter than it is in the stock pictures.

Good Blues Amp
The Subzero seems to be a mix of a Fender Bassman and a Marshall JTM45 so it gives a range of sounds. The only issue I've had with this amp is that the output transformer blew up. After replacing that with a much larger Marshall one it certainly tears holes in the ears of anyone who passes by. Good blues - classic rock amp. Well worth the money.
It's Spec's.
Power Output: RMS 50W minimum into 8ohM @ 5 THD, 1KHz Input: High, Low Effect: Send, Return Controls: Gain, Boost S/W, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence, Master, Reverb Tubes: 2 x "6L6" Electro Harmonix, 3 x "12AX7" Electro Harmonix Dimensions: 540(W) x 230(H) x 215(D) mm (21.25" x 9" x 8.46") Weight: 11.7kg

Did you run her at the wrong impedance? because an output transformer shouldn't blow out unless its underspecced or mis-connected....
363
jimmarchi1 I've been using her with the Subzero G410. We found that there was trouble in the winding and a whole load of dry joints. after replacing the transformer she's been fine.
41016
huh, just a bad batch of transformers, WEIRD! Hope Sub Zero switches to a more reliable supplier. Good transformers are thin on the ground at good prices in these modern times of runaway inflation and Chinese manufacturing :-(
41016
just a thought, but she looks like a Marshall 2204 with 6L6es and an effects loop to me... a 5F6/JTM45 circuit is 4 inputs, tube rectified, 3 preamp tubes for 2 channels... this definitely looks like 3 tubes for one channel with high and low inptuts and a master volume control like a 2204 or 2203... not that I am not a huge fan of the JCM800 range, used to swear by them! At heart a 50 watt 800 style circuit is just a gained up, tightened up bassman, but the small changes make a world of difference.
363
Guess bad batches can happen from time to time. This is actually the third head of this model i've had because the first one they sent out had fallen apart during transit, The Transformer pretty much beat the living crap out of everything inside, So they replaced it, With another one that was exactly the same. Everything inside was loose, If it needed tightened it would have been easily done but the chassis was actually beaten up. The third one they sent out was pristine, Except it didnt work. Turned out it was the transformer so i replaced it for a Marshall one that was 3 times the size, Although now extremely heavy, I do not regret the volume im getting!
41016
its sad the lack of ruggedness in most factory amps these days, I once dropped a '63 Fender showman out of van and played the gig with it like nothing happened. They really used to build amplifiers to survive a war.
41016
a 50 watt amp oughta have a pretty robust piece of iron in it , I think the modern Marshall transformers by drake look kinda wimpy by 70s/80s standards so its not like you are getting screwed going with an off beand, import amp... pretty much all the factory-made amps these days have ahd the compnents downgraded a bit, parts all board mounted, board thickness decreased and too many features jammed into a tight space... I have seen so many post-900-series marshalls go down on stages its not even funny anymore, but people keep buying them
363
Yeah, The actual box's are well enough made. It was kinda like they hadnt tightened anything and used rubber bands instead.
363
Wow
Got one thinking id need a lot to alter my tone. Boy was I wrong. Adding just a little bit can make your blues so much cooler. But who dosn't buy this without playing White Stripe and Muse. Awesome pedal. Does what it says on it's Pedal board devouring Tin

Best Practice Amp on Market
The GX is just brilliant. it can either run from a standard 9v power supply or off AA batteries making it perfect for travel or busking. It has a range of built in amp models (including an acoustic simulator and a "mic" mode) and a load of effects such as Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Heavy Octave, and Reverb (also emulated spring reverb). It also has an aux-in and a headphone-out meaning it can be used to jam along to tracks easily. All in all this is by far the best affordable/travel/practice amp I've come across
