Description
Step back in time with the Kay K2-B, a vintage gem from the late 60s to early 70s era. This electric bass guitar is a testament to the craftsmanship of its time, offering a rich, old-school tone that resonates beautifully, especially when paired with flat wound strings. With its 30.5-inch scale length, this 4-string bass provides a comfortable playing experience for both seasoned musicians and enthusiastic newcomers.
Equipped with dual pickups and a 3-way selector switch, the Kay K2-B delivers versatile sound options, ranging from deep, warm tones to bright, punchy notes. The two volume and two tone controls allow you to fine-tune your sound, giving you control over your musical expression. Frets are in excellent condition, ensuring smooth playability. While the bridge cover is absent—common for models of this age—it doesn't detract from its nostalgic allure or impressive performance.
Perfect for those seeking a piece of musical history, the Kay K2-B is not just a bass guitar; it's a journey to an era where music was raw, authentic, and truly expressive.

Interesting Short Scale
A friend of mine was gifted this by a family member who was the original owner but it was put in the attic and forgotten about. When he discovered it the bridge was screwed and was in need a repair. He gave it to me as he had no want for it and after replacing the bridge and Straightening the neck, with a set of D'addarios on it it plays surprisingly well. I plug it in every so often for a more vintage feel. The leather coated humbuckers are a nice touch.

My first "serious" bass
I bought this for $300 in 1978 from a music store in Indiana. It had lots of tones and had a pretty solid sound. I played through a huge Sears Bass Head and a 2x16/2x12 cabinet.
