Mat Zo

In an Instagram post from Mat Zo "Just had @atrak cutting and scratching in my studio. Pinch me", we spotted Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntables as part of his studio setup.

Mat Zo uses Ableton Live to create and arrange all of his tracks. He posts video clips showing small bits of tracks he's working on in Ableton.

I picked these up today. A carvin console previously owned by frank zappa and a ross 1979 phaser and distortion pedal. Funny thing is the console wasn’t much more than the pedal. It’s not the best sounding console (it was mainly supposed to be used for live shows) but I’m sure I’ll find a use for it

In his Instagram story, Mat Zo shows the parts of a new computer build, including the Gigabyte C246-WU4 motherboard.

A video clip of an Ableton project Mat Zo is working on shows he's using Sylenth on one of the tracks.

From an interview with Mat Zo: "A lot of the synths I like to use are Zeta Plus, and Massive, and you know, all kinds of different things that I can find to get different mix sounds."

Mat Zo lists Cakewalk's Z3TA+ as one of his favorite software synths.

In this Tweet, Mat Zo says, "Got carried away and started making a whole jungle. Every sound here was made with a synth. Quite a fun exercise". In the video he posts, at the very beginning and throughout you can see him using the Xfer Serum Synthesizer inside of Ableton (posted by Mat Zo August 2015).

When he was 18 years old, Mat Zo gave an interview in which he stated that before he switched to Ableton Live, he "used to use Fruity Loops".
