Revealed the use of this pedal for dynamic low-gain guitar tones via Instagram.
Part of a new pedalboard setup used "when logistically convenient." Although not pictured, two are used on this board: one for high gain and one for dynamic mid gain.

I also love the Carbon Copy, it’s one of my all-time favourite delays. That thing is wicked and I don’t currently own a Carbon Copy Deluxe which I would love. Their reverb is amazing. Everything that they make is amazing.

Guitarists / recording enthusiasts, here's something worth your time. During pre production for this new record, I've been experimenting with direct recording amps with a @suhrcustom Reactive Load box and various impulse responses. While there are lots of quality impulses available, I find it a little bit time consuming and sometimes fatiguing to sift through folders of various microphone combinations and placements, etc... Over the last few months I've often thought, wouldn't it be great if I could dial in a cabinet with the same flexibility as dialling in an amp or pedal? Neunaber Audio has done it and it rules, hard.
The Iconoclast is not based on impulse responses and the fixed parameters that typically come with the territory. The 3 band EQ allows you to essentially determine the size of the cabinet (low), the mid frequency / dampening response (mid), and top end roll off (high) which emulates the difference between various speakers types. You can do everything from dial in a tight 1x12 type feel with the high end detail of a Creamback all the way to a 4x12 style thump in the bottom end with the same mid range / high end roll off as a V30. They also put a noise gate in which is super useful. There is also a software editor if you're the type to get under the hood and this thing even does a really nice stereo spread with only a mono input.
If you guys are direct recording with amplifiers and are frustrated by menu diving or the confusion of what even sounds balanced or "right" when dialling in sounds, I would highly recommend checking out the Iconoclast. Shout out to Neunaber for sending this over. I'm really impressed with the design concept on this thing
Shout out to Walrus Audio Effects for sending over their new Warhorn overdrive ???????? One of my favourite qualities in an OD is its ability to retain note clarity at higher gain levels. I've got the gain up fairly high here and you can still pick apart dense chords, but most importantly, the stringy/twangy nature of the split position I tend to favour in this guitar comes through beautifully. I play a couple of chords on their own and then play along with something I'm working on so you can hear how this kind of tone functions in context. [just realized as I'm captioning this that I coincidentally could have not worn a better shirt today

aaron states that he uses a fractal ax8 when he does international shows. he uses this to have as much of a streamlined setup as possible
Aaron has a Fractal fc12 on stage. He states that for a "perfect" show, all he uses is the tuner function. Intervals mainly use a daw running their patch changes through midi. Aaron likes the fc12 as aposed to their old footswitches. This is because as opposed to the old footswitches, the fc12 actually working in conjuction with the midi changes in the daw. The fc12 will switch to presets, and preset banks at the same time as the Rack unit is receiving patch changes. This allows Aaron to know where he is in terms of presets for the set, if their laptop goes down. Without this, if the laptop went down, Aaron might have been lost because the footswitch didn't switch to the most recently used presets bank
And yes, there are other great sounds like the Eventide stuff I really like. I’m a big fan of the Empress stuff. I have an Empress Super Delay and their Echo System and their new reverb are definitely desirable as well.

I’ll probably wind up with the Iso Brick on there for power. And I do have some Voodoo Labs and Strymon stuff on the main board right now but everything is being commandeered.
