"Removed the Strymon Tape Echo Pedal. Added a Strymon Mobius for BPM timed Tremelo, Leslie Simulator and much more in the way of modulation to come, as I get my head round all the possibilities. I’d like to get hold of an Expression pedal for this. Any tips? Well, that’s about it anyway. Pete Carroll my guitar tech, did a great job of cleaning the board up for me and replacing all the cables etc. I am pretty much gig ready. Can’t wait! /AB"more
"The switcher feeds a TC Polytune mini. The loops in the switcher have 8 pedals (1 per loop). They are: Loop 1 – [Suhr Koji Compressor](http://equipboard.com/items/suhr-koji-comp) Loop 2 – [Boss MO-2 multi overtone](http://equipboard.com/items/boss-mo-2-multi-overtone-guitar-effects-pedal) Loop 3 – Strymon Mobius…" - [Pete Thorn](http://www.strymon.net/2014/07/07/waiting-pictures-pedalboard-feature-pete-thorn/).more
"I’ve got the Crocodile switcher, Origin Cali76 compressor—which is like a take on the old UA 1176s, then the Fulltone Full-Drive, Wampler Dual Fusion, then some of the Strymon stuff—the Timeline, blueSky, and Mobius, then an Eventide H9, and a wah. First in the chain, I’m using a Pete Cornish input buffer, which is a sweet little piece."more
Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip borrowed a Strymon Mobius from Pedal Genie for 4 months in 2019. “It really does the rotary and tremolo sounds very well. I’ve used the rotary and tremolo sounds on 2 songs on the new album “Love Never Dies”(release date August 2019) I might end up buying one someday but not anytime soon I have a lot of other ways to get close to those sounds live. It is a very cool pedal and has a lot of sounds in it. The filter sounds are cool too lots of Grateful Dead, 311 style sounds in there.”more
Let's get this straight: Your pedalboard will get way too big if you use all the possibilities you will get with the mobius. The mobius sounds absolutely killer without any loss of signal - which you would have to deal with if you use analog pedals instead of this one. In addition the mobius is not as big nor heavy as you might think, it's well built und set up logically. You'll have hours of fun with it!
I just wanted a rotary and a pattern tremolo, but with the money that i'd spend to get it, i could get the Mobius. Apart from great sounds it has too a very twekable possibilities to achieve great sounds. Some effects like Quadrature allows to get some great weird textures. Tremolo is very nice, the pattern tremolo is awesome. I am not a chorus/flanger user, but this effects on Mobius are very 3D-ish and combined with drive or fuzz can make a huge sound. The most useful tool in this pedal is the send/return by far. I use it, pass through my drive chain on it and choosing what i want before or after the modulations. A great goal to Strymon mobius.
This one is not a one trick pony. it's versatile and can replicate all of the sounds it promotes really well. There is a slight difference in authenticity in sound when comparing like for like to analog pedals of the same nature however to me when I use this in my band at full noise the debate between digital and analog quickly disappears . I use this because of the midi functions paired with a GigRig g2 and has kicked 4 pedals off my pedalboard. A brilliant space saver with studio quality effects.
The best modulation pedal ever. The quality of the sound is incredible and the options and ranges of each one of the effects is amazing. The option to save until 200 presets divided in 100 banks is excellent and adding the fact that you can name each preset, it ease the exploring of the banks and presets to play live.
The best option for modulation processor.
Their classic algorithms do sound nice but the real reason why I keep it over other options that came after it is because of its more peculiar features, it’s a very interesting unit to conquer sounds beyond the more traditional modulation effects. Their rotary mode allows you to ramp between two different speeds and I think that they should have make this feature available for all the other modes.
I sadly had to sell a couple of modulation pedals (DejaVibe and Ventilator) But with this one i can have almost the same settings, plus now i got all the modulations that i never had!
