Craig Nicholls of the Vines commissioned this guitar - he saw one of producer Rob Schnapfs' S&S guitars and liked its light weight and sound. Quilted Maple top with Rosewood fingerboard, 2 TV-Jones Filtertron pickups.

As can be seen in the source photograph, Nicholls was spotted playing a white Fender American Standard Stratocaster with Rosewood fretboard on stage.

Although it is not 100% what kind of Fender stratocaster he uses, from the looks it is close to a 1970s one. This was his main guitar in the Outthataway era.

In the Music video for Get Free he can be seen using a Black Gibson SG Standard (Standard not Special).

Used primarily in the Highly Evolved era for live shows. You can see it in several of their performances from that era, including Live On Channel V 2002, which i linked. It can be seen in the background, behind Craig, in most of the more open shots.

Used for live shows during the Melodia Era, in the example video it can be seen best at 1:52 at the Pentaport Rock Festival 2008.

In an interview during the Craig Nicholls/The Vines AOL Sessions in 2004, Craig Nicholls confirmed his use of a Flanger, specifically the Boss BF-2 Flanger, as noted by the source author spaceship1969 on YouTube.
