Flea's Gear
Flea is known to have used Rotosound RS66LD Swing Bass 45-105 strings, as evidenced by the distinct red silk wraps at both the string end and the ball end, which are characteristic of older Rotosound Swing sets, depicted in the photograph from the early-mid 80s with the Red Hot Chili Peppers
Flea used the Dunlop Straplok Dual Design Strap Retainer System in the 1990s when he played Stingray basses, as evidenced by a photograph from the era. This system was later replaced by Schaller strap locks.

Flea is confirmed to have used EMG J Set Pickups during the "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" and "Mother's Milk" eras (1987-1991) of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This is evidenced by his use of a Spector NS-2J bass, equipped with these pickups, in performances such as Pinkpop 1988 and Higher Ground at the Arsenio Hall Show. The official music video for "Knock Me Down," available on RedHotChiliPeppeVEVO's YouTube channel, further supports this information.
In this Facebook video with 42K views and 2.4K reactions, Flea can be seen using a Trace Elliot 1048H cabinet, a 1x15 cabinet and what looks to be a Series 6 bass head
In the film "The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel," at the 22-minute mark, Flea is observed using a Fender Musicmaster Bass. Based on the instrument's black color and headstock tuners, it is identified as a late '70s version. This bass was played by Flea during a live performance with Anthym in 1982. The proof of this can be found on Netflix.
