And 'When We All Come Together' features a veritable catalog of weird instruments - I used a BilT Corvaire, a Duesenberg baritone and mandola, a no-name 'junk shop' archtop acoustic, a Deering banjo... and probably some other things, too!

Govan mentions the guitar in [2019 Guitar World interview]:

The real secret weapon in that song was a bizarre instrument that I found lying around in the studio - I believe it was called a BilT Corvaire. To me, this guitar looked like a thoroughly eccentric mashup of elements from various unrelated classic designs: a Jazzmaster vibrato unit, f-holes that ran through the entire thickness of the body, and so on. But it sounded just perfect for that track.

"Well, whenever I use a chorus pedal in a gig situation, I always find myself wanting that pedal to do more than one thing. Most of the time, I'm looking for one of the following three sounds: - An all-purpose "pretty" chorus, to make chords sound just a little more spacious, - A high-speed pseudo-Leslie effect for those Hammond-style comping moments, and - That Scofield-esque lead sound where the depth is almost on the verge of sounding out of tune. I like the idea that, using mystical TonePrint cyber-voodoo, I could set the range of each knob in such a way that each of those three sounds would be easy to access in real time, by turning each knob to an obvious setting like "12 o'clock" or to "all the way up". This way, you get a decent variety of tones at your disposal, all from a single pedal - and you can switch from one tone to another in a matter of moments, without messing around with MIDI presets."

"On this album some of the more memorable sounds came from an MXR Phase 99, which I borrowed from the good people at that company. It’s like two Phase 90s in one box. That’s all over “Pressure Relief” and “ZZ Top.” I don’t know if there was a subliminal Van Halen influence going on because we recorded in Sunset Sound where Fair Warning and Van Halen were recorded. Maybe some subliminal echo of Van Halen was there when we were recording. I felt the need to phase certain things."

In this video, Guthrie plays through his Aristocrats pedalboard - a pedalboard which is planned to fit in a travel suitcase for fly gigs and to travel lightly. It's a small board and, therefore, features a Polytune MINI, not a regular one (for space reasons).
