in an interview with SOS parker reveals he recorded most of the vocals on the Slow Rush with a Electro Voice re-20, before he lost it in the malibu fire
Kevin is seen using a Wooly Mammoth in this promotional video for Innerspeaker
Kevin Parker continues to use the Roland PCR-500, now in a distinctive purple color, as shown in the user-uploaded image on Ytimg.
About 7 seconds into the video you can clearly see a Behringer Pro-1 being adjusted
At 0:42 of this video, Kevin can be seen using Zildjian 14" NewBeats Hi-Hats on his kit.
The Ride can be seen in the Corner of this photo, the logo shows that it is indeed a K Constantinople Ride, but the version and size is currently Unknown.
Can be seen in this clip of Kevin's studio to the left of the mixer
In the bottom-middle of this photo of Kevin's effects board, a Boss BR-600 Digital Recorder can be seen. This pedal is the pedal behind the famous synth guitar tone that appears on many Tame Impala's songs such as Alter-Ego and Why won't you make up your mind.
Kevin Parker uses a versatile, yet vintage guitar. According to Parker, this is a 330 issued in 1967. The "Tame Impala" frontman mentions that "...old Rickenbackers have something the new ones don´t.." His guitar, specifically, is JetGlo black and has a pickguard painted in a mint blue shade.
"In terms of monitors, Parker massively upgraded from the Yamaha HS7s he’d used to make Currents, to a pair of ATC SCM45A Pros. “I went from $300 monitors to $10,000 monitors,” he laughs. “I had a bit of money from Currents, so I was just like, ‘Fuck it, I may as well.’ The HS7s, I was always fine with. But a few friends of mine in LA have studios and they’ve got the ATCs. They just blow me away every time.”"
You can see Kevin playing the Prophet REV2 in this video
A boss RE-20 Space Echo pedal can be seen in the top left-hand corner of this photo of Kevin's effects board. Kevin used this pedal configuration just after the release of Tame Impala's Lonerism.
I got a few new keyboards. All i had last time was a Roland Juno 106 and a Sequential Circuits Pro One.
I fell in love with those naff' 90's sounding keyboards. I've got a Roland JV1080 synth module that you can plug a midi keyboard into
This bass was used to record Innerspeaker (2010). Kevin and Dominic Simper can be seen playing an early 1960's Fender Jazz Bass in the "Tame Impala - Innerspeaker Memories" at 13:30 (Dom) and 14:32 (Kevin). This bass has been used by Dominic Simper (2007 - 2009) and Cam Avery (2013 - present) live on stage.
"I'd mixed one of the songs on the little Boss [BR-864] 8-track until it sounded good and, without knowing it, I'd completely limited the whole thing by putting the master fader of the final mix up until it was flat lining!"
In a live performance of "Lost in Yesterday" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2020, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala is seen using the Sequential Prophet-6 synthesizer, as featured on the tameimpalaVEVO YouTube channel.
Kevin Parber can be seen using Pioneer DJ DJM-900NXS2 for DJ peformance in 2022 according to this page. The reason why this is Nexus2 and not Nexus is that the Nexus2 has a big blue(gren when Off) button (Send/Return) on the right side, which the original Nexus doesn't have. If you look at the photo in this article, you can see that the button is installed on the mixer.
Beside Kevin there's a Sequential Circuits DrumTraks. Probably used in the studio and as the first part to the songwriting process.
At the start of the performance you can see and hear him using the electro harmonix pulsar tremolo pedal.
"Parker’s pedals are divided between three boards. The first has a Roland GR-55 synth running into a Yamaha mixer routed to a Radial J48 DI box."
In this screenshot of Kevin's rack from the 'Lonerism' episodes, a DBX 166XL can be seen in the middle of all his rack mounts.
An EarthQuaker Devices Terminal Fuzz can be seen on Kevin's right board at 12:47 in this video.
In this photo of Kevin's rack during the Lonerism episodes, a Shure SE-30 Gated Compressor can be seen underneath the KTG.
In this photo, a Boss AB-2 can be seen on Kevin Parker's pedalboard, the same board he is pictured with here.
During preparation for the Lonerism 10th Anniversary show at Desert Daze, Kevin posted a story on his Instagram showing his pedalboard with the Moogerfooger MF-105 MuRF. It was previously believed this pedal he had all the way back during the InnerSpeaker period was the MF-105M, Midi Version, but this is incorrect. In this photo you can see the staggered inputs his guitar go in and out of, which the Midi MuRF does not have, it has a midi output and straight input jacks. So Kevin has the normal Moogerfooger MF-105 MuRF. The less expensive variant.
Kevin appears to be using a Neumann U87 for vocals in this studio pic from his instragram page.
The Roland Sh-1 is clearly visible in this photo. He talks about how he favors this synth over the minimoog in his recent interview with SoundonSound.
In this photo (taken from Kevin's interview from 'Under The Influences') a pair of M50x's can be seen sat on his left.
During the 2021 Tame Impala Wave House Innerspeaker Concert we see Kevin using a 2020 Fender American Professional ll in a 3-Tone Sunburst with a Rosewood fretboard (2021 models include a 75 Anniversary decal). You can tell becuase it features the neck heel carve, non-locking staggered tuners, 2-point bridge, and the new string tree which is also featured on the Ultra models. You can see these features throughout the concert which can't be captured in one whole frame.
Here's Kevon using a beautiful Blue ES-335 in a live performance on Triple J, and at Splendor in the Grass.
