Fender American Professional II Stratocaster Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Fender's American Professional II Stratocaster is a well-balanced evolution of a classic, featuring a comfortable neck and sweet-sounding pickups that enhance its playability. Players will appreciate the subtle refinements like the sensitive tremolo and the push/pull tone controls that add versatility. However, the combination of neck and bridge tones can occasionally muddle in chord settings, which might not sit well with everyone. Despite this, the overall craftsmanship and tonal variety make it a compelling choice for both traditionalists and modern players alike.

The Big Review: Fender American Professional II Stratocaster & Telecaster

guitar.com

Fender's American Professional II Stratocaster and Telecaster push the boundaries of versatility and playability, showcasing superb upgrades like the roasted pine body and V-Mod II pickups. While the weight increase on the Tele may deter some, both guitars shine in their tonal range and comfort, from the smooth vibrato to the innovative bridge designs. However, the aesthetic choices, such as the glossy finish on the pine, might not appeal to everyone. Overall, this refresh elevates these classic instruments, making them compelling for both seasoned players and newcomers alike.

Fender American Professional II Stratocaster – MusicPlayers.com

musicplayers.com

Fender's American Professional II Stratocaster strikes a chord with its revamped V-Mod pickups that deliver sparkling clarity and a range of versatile tones. The sleek design enhancements, including a tapered neck heel and rolled fretboard edges, add comfort and playability, making it feel ready to rock right out of the box. However, minor rough spots on the fretboard edges and the absence of locking tuners might deter some players. Despite these small drawbacks, the overall craftsmanship and sound quality justify its price tag, providing an exceptional value for an American-made guitar.

It's a great guitar, it'll last a lifetime. Although It has it's issues.

I purchased my AmProii Strat over a year ago. It was my first USA made guitar, although I still value my other, less expensive guitars. It has great playability, apart from 3 buzzing frets and relatively below-average tuning stability (especially on the B string but i'll just blame that on the sunny weather down here in Australia). Ppart from that it's a great, very versatile guitar overall.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I like the tone around 8/9, it sounds less harsh on the bridge pickup. I also recommend turning it to Eb. It sounds killer!

Yet discontinued, the American pro stratocaster can be found on the used market for generally under $2000 (AUD). The only upgraded things the Proii has compared to the Pro is the upgraded V-mod II pickups, curved neck heel for better upper access and a smooth, satin neck finish. I picked up an old american pro stratocaster at my local music store 2 years ago before I got the pro ii and I loved it.
