Nikki Sixx's Gear
Nikki used Spector basses 1987-1990. Spector made a run of these Spectorbirds, PJ config with just a volume control until Gibson issued a cease and desist order to Spector for copyright infringement. Fernandes also produced a few until Gibson did the same to them.

Legendary Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is known as much for his superior playing ability as he is for his longtime love of Gibson’s Thunderbird bass guitars. Gibson once again honors Sixx’s skills and devotion by proudly introducing the new Nikki Sixx Signature Model Thunderbird IV—a genuine tribute to one of rock’s most iconic bass players. The first collaboration between Gibson and Sixx—the Gibson Blackbird—was released almost 10 years ago, and enjoyed immense popularity from both players and fans alike.
The Gibson Blackbird was a custom Thunderbird model made to specifications requested by Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx. Originally to be named the "Sixxbird", the Blackbird was manufactured from 2000 to 2003. It differed from the Thunderbird IV in the following details:
The fingerboard was made from ebony and had iron cross inlays. An "opti grab" handle was added to the normal Thunderbird bridge, The only electronic control was a single on/off switch for the two humbucker pickups. The pickguard was designed specifically for the Blackbird All hardware on the Blackbird were finished in black chrome. The Blackbird had a flat-black finish. The pickups were renamed as 'Deep Sixx' pickups.

In this February 17, 2018 Facebook post by Sixx, we can see a photo of a Black Heroshigi Kids 12-String Bass with the caption:
"Found in storage: 1990’s KIDS custom 12 string bass. We even had the tattoo in the middle of my chest inlayed on the body of the bass. Thinking of selling this baby and getting and old Rickenbacker or Jazz bass."
Sixx owned three of these 12-Strings, one in Black with Gold tattoo Inlay (Pictured above), one Red with "HELTER SKELTER" carved on it, and one in Green.
Per S.I.T Strings website Nikki uses their strings and has a signature set as well.
