paul_gilbert_official For the “vocal” on “Holy Diver,” I used a 90s Ibanez Ghostrider, a JHS Twin Twelve V2, a Supro Drive, and a Marshall JTM45. I took photos of the gear and settings for nearly all of the recording of “The Dio Album,” so more to come! Link in Bio to listen and pre-order!

In the 1988 REH Video titled "Intense Rock," Paul Gilbert is seen playing a pink/violet Ibanez RG USA Custom Shop guitar. This instrument features a Seymour Duncan Super Distortion pickup in the bridge position, a Seymour Duncan Vintage Firebird pickup in the neck position, and a Kahler locking tremolo. The headstock features in small print the word "Televasalas," a reference to actor Telly Savalas, and the guitar's pickguard is clear and painted from the back to match the body. This information is supported by a video available on YouTube, uploaded by user roosterjake under the title "Paul Gilbert Intense Rock 1 FULL Lesson," with all rights attributed to Lick Library.

All right. I love this new guita. PGM 50 premium built. DiMarzio pickups. Air Classics on the outside. DiMarzio PGM single in the middle. The coolest volume knob in the world. I'm serious. The Sure Grip. They made those back in the 70s. Locking tuners. Binding. So even if you're wearing black, you can still see what the shape of the guitar is. It's just the most awesome guitar in the world. All right, thanks everybody for checking it out. Ibanez PGM 50. Rock and roll.
In this video Paul can be seen playing an Epiphone Wilshire that has been modified with a Kahler tremolo and full sized humbucker in the bridge. Paul probably used this in the early Racer X days and in his time at MI and GIT.
The Wilshire has had lots of different headstocks and pickup variations through the years. Paul Gilbert's may be from the 60's and has the 6-inline headstock and originally had a stopbar bridge and tailpiece setup with 2 mini humbuckers.
