"I went to see AC/DC in Sydney AU on Feb 22 and got the full stage tour from Malcolm's tech Bison and their amp tech Rick (who builds Wizard Amps). I got to play one of Angus's SG's through one of his Wizard amps. It sounded amazing. I was so nervous I couldn't remember how to play half the AC/DC songs I know. Notice how high the strap is as well. It's Angus's! Oh, and AC/DC was incredible."

“I wasn’t really running much in terms of pedals, it was mainly rhythm tones from the amp. I did use one of those Gamechanger Audio Plasma [distortion] pedals for crazy noises throughout the show, plus my EVH Phase 90 and maybe some delay for the clean tones on Summer Breeze by Seals And Crofts. "

This is a custom made McSwain guitar made for Anthrax Guitarist Scott Ian. “It's obviously a zombie guitar,” Ian says at (7:58). “I wish I can give you all of the details but I know that this peace of pine is actually from, I can't remember the name of the cemetery. It's the actual cemetery where they filmed Night of the Living Dead. Outside of Pittsburg. So, they went as far as to actually take this pine from the church that's there at the cemetery. They buried the piece of wood in the cemetery for a month….He did all kinds of stuff. These are actual coffin nails from a coffin from that time period at the cemetery that they used for the fret markers. This piece of ribcage was actually ripped off a zombie from the Walking Dead. Greg Nicotero, who does all of the effects for Walking Dead, they went to Greg's shop and he pulled it off like a zombie and he gave it to them and he said, here stick that on a guitar. So, they did… So, it's got all kinds of zombie goodness. One of my favorite parts about it is the whole through headstock. Just the way it's kind of eaten away. Like, you can't even see it really, but I just love the detail of that. So, yeah my zombie guitar. Which I've been using on and off on the song Fight Them Till You Can't, which is about killing zombies. So, I guess it's kind of fitting.”

Scott wanted an all-in-one go-to pedal, something that he could use as his amp tone on fly rigs -- or just plugging the pedal in front of an overdriven amp so the pedal affects mainly the dynamic response of his tone, the tightness of the bass, and the attack for palm-muting.

Scott Ian of Anthrax swears by the Dunlop MC404 Wah pedal, saying “it just sounds great. It's got a huge amount of throw. I feel like it really digs in when you step on that thing. You really dig in with it. And just the tone of it is great. And it's got a boost as well which kicks in which is nice for the solo. I just have that boost turned on. But it's all about the tone. It's just based on it, it just sounds great,” (15:26).
