"...On this particular board, the only modulation source I have is the [Line 6] M5. So let's see what's up right now - a vibrato... I see these M5s on a lot of Nashville studio guitarist pedalboards. It's really a really good workhorse. Nice reverb... if somebody asks for a phaser or flanger it's there for you."

I was surprised when I fired up the CP-1X at the amount of clarity and definition it gave me. It really seemed to follow and adapt to everything I played. No matter what style I played, this compressor always seemed to react in a musical way. Whether it’s country picking or very aggressive clean R&B or heavy rhythm or even distorted lead soloing, it always enhances what I’m doing.

Tim pierce talks about ODR mini around 8:00 into this video.
“The Slide Rig and Cali 76 are are both champions in the quest for clean sustain.
For several decades now, clean sustain has been the most sought after and elusive goal of guitar players. Distorted guitar, by its nature, compresses itself. Clean and slightly distorted guitar tones benefit greatly from compression…There are lots of great outboard compressors that we all use when recording. but they can’t duplicate the sound of a compressor that a guitarist that puts between the guitar and the amplifier. This is where these two pedals shine.
Turn one of these compressors on, and you immediately notice a new fatness, a new width, and the kind of sustain we have all heard on our favourite records!! I immediately noticed that these compressors are in a different league than the small pedal compressors that are so commonplace. They simply sound like a guitar— on a record—- on the radio……..”
