Ty Segall's Gear
This photo shows Ty using a Russian Big Muff Pi during a GOGGS performance.
This photo shows Ty using an A/B Selector during a GOGGS performance.
In a user-uploaded photo on Regaloeb, Ty Segall is seen with a Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop '58 Plain Top. The guitar's distinguishing features, such as the absence of a "Standard" label on the truss rod cover, a vintage-colored pickup selector cap, and a plain maple top, suggest it is a custom shop model. Additionally, modifications like the removed neck pickup cover and replaced tuning gears with Grovers are evident. The image also shows significant wear on the neck, indicating it could be an "Aged" model, or perhaps Ty owns a genuine vintage piece.
At the start you can see Ty using a chromatic tuner
at 6:58 as well as certain other spots throughout the video, A silvertone 1484 amp/cab setup can be seen behind Ty.
On the floor in the bottom left of this photo you can see a Moog Realistic Synth on the floor
According to this Premier Guitar Article on Ty Segall, he uses a "1968 Gibson EB-0 with flatwounds."
at 4:57 in this Epsilons music video, a white Fender Strat can be seen in Ty's hands.
In this short clip of Adult Swim's Squidbillies, Ty can be seen using his Octave The Cat synthesizer at 0:10.
At 5:20 Segall explains "I've got a 60s Acrolite Ludwig"
Throughout the video we can see Ty using a Zildjian ride cymbal
This strap is handwoven in Peru according to fair trade guidelines. Each strap is as unique as the artisan that crafted it. Our strap feels great on your shoulder. We use full-grain leather and elegant, durable vintage-style hardware. It's a new standard that complements any instrument. This pattern is named after Ty Segall, who is arguably rocking harder than anyone active today.
This piece of equipment was listed under Segall's rig list in 2019 Premier Guitar interview.
Throughout the whole video we can see Ty using a Zildjian crash cymbal
at 0:47, a blonde Fender Showman amp (presumably with the grill cloth replaced as these were produces with brown cloth) can be seen behind ty on a marshall 412 cab.
At Ty Segall's show at the Granada Theater in Dallas TX on 6/17/22, I took a photo of his pedals. Surprised to see that he uses a Hyper Fuzz now. I met him after the show and he said he likes the griminess of it. Possibly used on his new record "Hello, Hi" (?) Also, in this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrDTcGCKFQM ), he states that he uses it.
In the YouTube video "Ty Segall's Very Loud 2022 Guitar Rig" by Reverb, Ty Segall is seen using the DOD Performer 575 Flanger.
In this video Ty is seen with his Gibson B-25 acoustic
In this video, you can see that Pro Tools is open on the computer screen.
In this YouTube video where Ty opens for Thee Oh Sees, Ty can be seen using what I believe to be a Kay Galaxie electric guitar.
Ty Segall uses a Gibson SG Special outfitted with humbucker pickups (seen pictured held by Evan Burrows on an Instagram story) during his Three Bells tour, replacing his Travis Bean guitar that he sold shortly before the tour.
Ty Segall is confirmed to be using the Death By Audio Octave Clang V2, as evidenced by a video and photo posted on Instagram by the user phishonphilm. The footage, shot by @brian_nemerow during Segall's performance at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA, shows him employing this specific gear, having previously used the DBA Apocalypse for a similar effect.
Ty Segall famously used a faded 1966 Fender Mustang in Daphne Blue in the earlier part of his career during live shows. He hasn't been photographed with it live recently, however, it has been seen still in use at his studio. It is safe to assume that he has retired it from live use as the value of these has gone up substantially since he had acquired it.
