Zardonic's Gear

Hide incorrect submissions

Zardonic utilizes Beepmap, a plugin known for its ability to generate sound from images by mapping colors and brightness to frequencies, tone, and volume. This tool is particularly effective for creating atmospheric and eerie sounds, especially when enhanced with effects like ping-pong delay and reverb. According to Image-Line, Beepmap translates red into the amplitude of a sine wave on the left channel and green on the right, with yellow affecting both channels equally. The frequency of each sine wave is determined by its vertical position within the image, with the blue component optionally defining the frequency range per pixel.

Having a lot of fun with this monster. Behold, the legendary POLIVOKS Soviet Synthesizer! This is a relic from the USSR, the last one was manufactured in 1992. They were fabricated in the same facilities where they built the same tanks that dismantled the nazi empire.

There is nothing more badass than this in the planet. And I have it. Let me rub that in your face one more time.

"Great for second pair of headphones, but not for main monitoring in the studio. There's something about them that make the sound somehow too tight. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but next to clinical headphones, you'll find the Beyerdynamic DT880 or the Sennheiser HD600 much more flat and natural sounding.

Now, here's the tricky thing. I've found when using clinical headphones, your head is too focused on the technical aspect of your production and less focused on the fun part. Which is a KEY part of your music. You're supposed to enjoy the music you do, and you should also have an idea of how your music will sound in consumer grade products.

So, my recommendation? Get these. They sound GREAT, but if you're serious about production, get this pair and get another pair of higher grade reference headphones, preferably of higher impedance too, and a good headphone amp.

On the other hand, if what you want is some headphones that are significantly better than your average consumer grade headphones, this is probably the best bang for the buck. And since they're low impedance, they don't need an amp. So that's a plus."

"I have tried enough DJ headphones out there. I'm sure I've missed a lot too, but I can guarantee you that this is some of the BEST quality headphones you'll find on there."

said I had no space or need for a new synth... Except that one time when I said I really needed to find space for that new Arturia MicroFreak I wanted to buy. And after many days of anxiety, depression, uncertainty, procrastination and other first world problems, I finally found a place for it, took the plunge and bought it.

So far, no buyers remorse. For less than 300 bucks this thing is fucking SICK. Come see my story for a couple snippets and sounds I made driving it with the Clarett 4pre USB preamps. Gnaaaarly bass. I think it's time for a new Zardonic album ????
