Steve Miller's Gear
Here's a picture of Steve Miller playing the Iceman. It's hard to see at this size, but it definitely has that long tailpiece. In fact, it looks completely stock, as far as I can tell. Post #7 with Pic.
"Steve Miller was in Killer Vintage in STL and found a new K-Line Springfield in Surf Green to add to his arsenal."
In an article for Vintage Guitar Magazine in September 2010, Steve states that he uses a Klon Centaur I Overdrive Pedal when playing his Gibson guitars.
In an article for Vintage Guitar Magazine in September 2010, Steve states he uses a Fulltone OCD Pedal: "Then, for guitar there’s a Klon Centaur I use for the Gibson guitars, a Fulltone OCD for Stratocasters – it’s weird, but they always sound different in each venue; sometimes I switch guitar setups and one just feels better than the other."

In this photo showing Steve's visit to Gibson's Custom Factory in 2010, he is seen holding his late 60's Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cutaway guitar.
“They were the first to take me seriously as a guitar player,” Miller said. “So we built a bunch of guitars and they were great.
Pictured here in his collection of guitars.

Replete in bright colors and mother-of-pearl, this guitar sports a photo of Miller in the Joker mask from the ’70s album. It was builty by Jim Triggs.
Sold on Reverb.com in 2017 for $7,499 via Jon's Gear Garage.
Available for purchase is an incredibly rare piece - this is a 2007 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 1957 Reissue, but this is 1 OF ONLY 5 MADE of the "Lucy" prototypes made before the $13k custom shop "Lucy" was released in 2013. This is literally much more rare than the actual $13,000 Lucy Eric Clapton George Harrison reissue, not only because only five of these were made and many more official reissues were produced.
This guitar is ONE OF ONLY ONE, because it is from Steve Miller's personal collection! It was originally sold on consignment at Guitar Showcase in San Jose, CA, and comes with a certificate of sale and authenticity signed by Steve Miller's manager, Scott Boorey on 7/27/2010.
One of the other Lucy prototypes has sold on its own, with zero provenance, for over $6,000 recently. Being that this is from Steve Miller's personal collection, and that it is one of only five of these guitars made with the "Harrison" finish (that's what Gibson calls it if you call to ask for information on the serial number), is why this is a BARGAIN at this price. People are paying $13k for essentially this guitar, but with fake dings, dents, and buckle rash to mimic Clapton's and Harrison's Les Paul, but why not make this one your own and save $5k?
The only other one that I've been able to locate after a vast amount of research and many phone calls made sold a couple of years ago at Rumble Seat Music for $6,800.
Because I can find these two instances of $6k+ sales with zero provenance, I won't even consider offers lower than the $6k range.
If you're not familiar with the story of this guitar, google "Lucy guitar"
This guitar has the same specs as a regular 2007 1957 Goldtop reissue, but with a stained cherry two piece top instead of the regular gold finish, and it comes with factory original Grover tuners.
It weighs roughly 9.4 pounds on my bathroom scale and has a very thick neck. It is in near perfect condition and seems to have been played very carefully.
For those George Harrison fans out there, I also have a 1984 Fender Telecaster with a full you know what kind of wood neck AND body, exactly like George Harrison played on the rooftop, available. I would give a discount for any buyer who wanted both guitars.
Ask any and all questions before bidding/submitting an offer. I accept local pickup. I have this item available for sale locally and reserve the right to end this listing at any time because of a local sale. Buyer responsible for actual shipping and handling ($95 estimated).
Good Luck!
