Sold on Reverb.com in 2017 for $7,499 via Jon's Gear Garage.

Available for purchase is an incredibly rare piece - this is a 2007 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 1957 Reissue, but this is 1 OF ONLY 5 MADE of the "Lucy" prototypes made before the $13k custom shop "Lucy" was released in 2013. This is literally much more rare than the actual $13,000 Lucy Eric Clapton George Harrison reissue, not only because only five of these were made and many more official reissues were produced.

This guitar is ONE OF ONLY ONE, because it is from Steve Miller's personal collection! It was originally sold on consignment at Guitar Showcase in San Jose, CA, and comes with a certificate of sale and authenticity signed by Steve Miller's manager, Scott Boorey on 7/27/2010.

One of the other Lucy prototypes has sold on its own, with zero provenance, for over $6,000 recently. Being that this is from Steve Miller's personal collection, and that it is one of only five of these guitars made with the "Harrison" finish (that's what Gibson calls it if you call to ask for information on the serial number), is why this is a BARGAIN at this price. People are paying $13k for essentially this guitar, but with fake dings, dents, and buckle rash to mimic Clapton's and Harrison's Les Paul, but why not make this one your own and save $5k?

The only other one that I've been able to locate after a vast amount of research and many phone calls made sold a couple of years ago at Rumble Seat Music for $6,800.

Because I can find these two instances of $6k+ sales with zero provenance, I won't even consider offers lower than the $6k range.

If you're not familiar with the story of this guitar, google "Lucy guitar"

This guitar has the same specs as a regular 2007 1957 Goldtop reissue, but with a stained cherry two piece top instead of the regular gold finish, and it comes with factory original Grover tuners.

It weighs roughly 9.4 pounds on my bathroom scale and has a very thick neck. It is in near perfect condition and seems to have been played very carefully.

For those George Harrison fans out there, I also have a 1984 Fender Telecaster with a full you know what kind of wood neck AND body, exactly like George Harrison played on the rooftop, available. I would give a discount for any buyer who wanted both guitars.

Ask any and all questions before bidding/submitting an offer. I accept local pickup. I have this item available for sale locally and reserve the right to end this listing at any time because of a local sale. Buyer responsible for actual shipping and handling ($95 estimated).

Good Luck!

Used with Fab Faux, as mentioned on Vivino's ThroBak artist page.

Q: What kind of Beatles gear are you using to recreate the songs live?

JV: The Fab Faux are forensic musicologists. We're archeologists, anthropologists, everything (laughs). I've got a historic copy of George Harrison's '57 Les Paul nick-named "Lucy", made famous by Eric Clapton using it on the solo of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", a Black '57 Gretsch Duo-Jet, a Gibson J-160E strung with flatwounds and played through an amp for the absolute sound of "I Fell Fine", a '90s Rickenbacker 325 V-59 with a Bigsby like John's, a copy of George's famous "Rocky" Fender Strat, an Epiphone Casino with newly installed SB-Special Soap Bar pickups strung with 10-49 flat wounds, plus a whole bunch more electrics and acoustics.
