In 1978 this guitar played better than the Les Paul Customs that I auditioned. With the added benefit of a tapped coil on the neck pickup, there was also a broader spectrum of tones at my disposal. I have recorded and toured with mine, and it remains my favourite out of the 4 Ibanez guitars that I own.

Ibanez Artist AR305AV (antique violin) with burl maple top. This instrument plays rather amazing with dual tap coil pickups offering almost Strat like qualities of tone with the benefit of low noise pickups.

It offers its own take on a hollow body sound, but it's built like a tank. I love my GB10!

Purportedly OEM was Peerless Guitar for Sam Ash. This box was priced $599 new. I bought mine used and loved it, however it was stolen at a gig. Fantastic tone on this guitar with a 17" bout and floating pickup. I particularly loved the D'Angelico styled headstock. D'Angelico and Peerless sell better-appointed versions for $1400 USD.

This was my 4th addition to my Ibanez family. Although I would prefer a 1981 Artist AS200AV, this is one of the next closest thing to those magical era instruments. There is a fairly rare photo of a decidedly much younger John Scofield performing in concert on one of these models.

Easy learning curve, very useful training info and videos available, the online user base is the most active for additional free support, incredibly powerful and customizable. For Pro Tool users there are skins that mimic the look, feel, and user quick-keys. Your license is also very portable to any desktop you happen to be using whether Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. There is no expense or hassle with an iLok USB dongle for piracy control required either, that is a huge win for easy of use. Its core engine is built so efficiently that you can easily run on older slower machines with smaller amounts of RAM as well. And its stability is remarkable... You can now see why its user base has exploded with a paltry price of only $60 for the FULL LICENSE. It is a no-brainer: Highly recommended.

These old workhorses sound rather amazing. Sans a road crew they might be best for permanent installations, but they perform with great efficiency, solid spectrum balance and are not prone to excessive feedback issues. The construction is incredible solid compared to most plastic molded others in today's models.
