Great combo amp that will do what you need

This amp has served me well. Got it used for $425 at GC. It's fairly powerful and puts out enough sound for any club or bar gig. I do find that the overdrive can be a bit 'tight' since it's a Fender. Nonetheless I use the drive channel backed off for my clean sound. And cranked it can actually sound pretty cool. I bump the bass a bit, cut the treble a bit, and put presence to 10 to open it up and smooth out the harshness. It takes pedals great of course. Also excellent for recording. My spring reverb only works intermittently unfortunately, but it sounds great when it does work. I wish the foot pedal could also toggle the reverb on and off. Anyway, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a solid combo amp!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Clean Tone with TV Jones Humbuckers: Drive Channel, Drive 3.5, Treble: 5.5, Mid 6.5, Bass: 7.5, Presence 10, Master: 3

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe review

The best tube amp I ever owned - a great bluesy/rocky sound, its kinda powerful (40W). Includes 2 channels which can be easily used with the footswitch. I mainly use the clean channel with the Seymour Duncan Forza overdrive.

jacob_keplinger

S/T, double singles

Used this amp for all of the second record and for "Alone, Leave Me" and "Monuments". After we recorded FW and started playing out, I stopped using my Orange head and converted this into a head for my Egnater cab.

jacob_keplinger

2019 update: This converted head was used for all of 'Threadsboro' and 'Free Rock,' as well as for all of the Bootleg episodes in season 1.
