I always said when I was a kid that if I had a super power, it would be Bad Luck.
Computer people enjoy having me around because I beta test everything by accident and if there is going to be a problem, it will happen to me for sure.

Well, those damned Canucks I bought my Yankee from sent me a European plug... AND of course it didn't fit under my board. I ended up running to guitar center where my church band's guitarist works and got a Pedal Power Plus 2. After I bought it, they mentioned they didn't have the brackets to put it underneath. Uggh.
The new spector is wonky. 2 volume controls and two other knobs that I cannot figure out what they do. It's.... different. All day I was either super boomy or you couldn't hear me at all. My specotr Legend custom puts it to shame.

Ah, yes... Ovation. Whnever I got to Guitar Center nowadays, I either look for a Martin 000-15m or an Ovation Celebrity. I hate how it feels, and the very few times I played it yielded a bad sound, but I just love the aesthetic...
Lol I need my guitar or bass at least Trujillo low
That's a good way to need wrist surgery down the road :)

voodoo lab. the pedaltrain is designed for it
I seriously thought about a Voodoo Mondo, but it just didn't have as high of specs as this lower end Yankee did.

The only convex back guitar I've played was an Ovation and it was very uncomfortable. The only way the Spector back could PUSH on your belly is if you are playing with the body at your chest or over your hips. Wherever the guitar sits on your torso when you sit down and play is where the guitar should be when you stand.

That body shape is fairly pleasant to look at.
The looks o fit aren't why you get a Spector. It's for the growl baby :)
Also, check out this arched back. This is a Legend Series Spector which used to be their bottom end product.

Those bastards. I just opened all my new gear and started arranging it on where I'd like it to go on the Pedaltrain. The Yankee PS-M2 doesn't fit under the pedaltrain. I've seen some yankees under pedaltrains I think in videos, but this one is not working. I'd hate to have my power-supply on top, wires running everywhere, like some kind of 5th grade science experiment.

They are HIGHLY sculpted bodies. The most comfortable back of a guitar I've played with. It's practically a hollowed out sphere on the other side and it fits your belly perfectly inside it. You get to feel the notes your playing through the body a lot more than a flat back.

I just got my new Spector Euro 5LX today. It's amazingly different from the Legend series in tone and feel. You can still hear the signature growl of the Spector body, bu tit seems punchier than my other Spector. I can make it sound like a basketball bouncing. The action is the lowest I've ever played on, so Good on Chicago Music Exchange for setting it up proper.
Tomorrow, I will sit down and piece together my first pedalboard. One of my band members works at Guitar Center and hooked me up with a 20% discount on some George L's patch cable kit. I'm also getting my molded in ear monitors this week, so on Sunday I will have about $2500 of all brand new gear with me on stage. It's a good day.

The Hello-Thread: Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself 👋
You take your Zef loving self right back out of here :), Just kidding
Welcome
There have been threads that discuss editing an artist, but if you are unable to find them, you may post freely. This site is much more easy going than others and we don't crucify you for posting in the "wrong" place. We are terrific at going off-topic in every thread as well so, wherever you decide to post, it will eventually become right/wrong place in time.

I would NOT modify a Mustang and lower the resale value on it to add string-through holes. If you are looking at putting that much money into a bass to have the features you want, then I would suggest having your own bass made through Carvin/Keisel or something. My Carvin is amazing and cost about 1,500 after all mods were made. Bassists change pickups like they do strings, usually once a year or so. You're fine there, but if the bass you are looking at has nearly none of the features you want, you should try to find one that is naturally.
Bridge. Badass II bridge was made famous partly due to how many people by Fenders, especially as beginners, and that Fenders were coming stock with the Badass bridges. It is also partly because it says Badass on it. If you are wanting to get a different bridge for higher sustain, I would look into A) Easy option, get whatever after-market bridge you like the features of or B) Better option but more difficult, get a heavy, well known brand bridge. I LOVE the Spector and Warwick bridges. I KIND OF like the Traben and Hipshot Rickenbacker bridges. My Spector bridge is aluminum and small but it still feels like picking up a 1911 pistol.
When picking your bridge though, make sure you get the right material. If you play slap mostly, get an aluminum bridge for that mid range pop. If you want longer sustain and a buttery, warm gong to your notes, get a brass bridge. It's heavy, but it's so worth it. The difference here is like hitting a note on a Casio keyboard vs a grand piano. The brass will have that deep metallic ring to it like a bell.

Greatly answered sir. I tell ya what, I like that Northern Welsh accent as well.
Makes me realize, why should I settle for a chick with 1 accent when I SHOULD be casting my net at chicks who can do whatever accent I want at the time.

Hi Jaun, welcome to the board. It's been years since I've been to Chili's.

Yeah, I just started to read your thing and I panicked because I don't know what a dutch oven is.
Or a food processor.
wut
A dutch oven is when you fart in bed while under the covers. If someone is in bed beside you, you grab the sheets and pull them up and over their head, trapping them in the hot and humid nightmare. A sauna that uses boiled eggs and feet instead of water.
Narcist, I would start with breakfast foods first. Nearly everyone enjoys breakfast and it has a wide range of difficulty degrees and cooking times. Start off with just eggs, biscuits, pancakes, etc and eventually work your way up to Quiche, Hollandaise, and Crepes. You would be surprised how many people out there cannot cook an egg the way it's asked for. Being able to master egg cooking, utilizing different temperatures, agitations, and seasonings is where I would start first. It's not enough just to be able to cook an egg the way YOU like. You will have guests, friends, and eventually your own children to cook for at some point and you will want to be able to please them.
My area of hatred personally is the grill. I can bake and use a stove just fine, but I cannot EVER get the exact results I want with a grill. It's just too much information and strategy to weild for just an occasional cooking type for me.

I'm actually really getting into Asian women right now. I never have before though. So if I can find an Asien woman who speaks with the Queen's proper.... I'll be set.

Gear Porn anyone?

I would try some high tension, flat-wound strings first off and see how they feel and sound to you. I think that would give you a plucked cello tone.

You'd want to go to somewhere within one of the "home counties" - Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Dorset, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex, Oxfordshire, Surrey, or Sussex. Avoid Essex like the plague though...
Why avoid Essex? Sounds like a fun time.
But seriously though, why not Essex?

So if I was to go to England to find a breeding vessel with the accent I require, which town has the highest rate of speaking Proper English or Queen's English?

My favorite quotes from Aqua Teen were always.
"I don't NEED no instructions, to know how to ROCK"
and
"They've got these crazy space age tubes go every which way"
-"Yeah, they're called PIPES. You should get some!"

I quote Hand Banana at work all the time and noone gets it.... yet..... but they will...... tonight....

Just to clarify, can you give an example of a person with the exact accent you like?
Emma Watson and Penelope Keith

I think I still have room for this pedal.

and so my lonely walk with the Theta continues. It's a decent pedal. Well built and a decent sized EQ, but I mainly got it because the way I looked at things a couple of years back was, I can pay 250 for a G string, or I can pay a little more for a bunch of extras.
What's your thoughts on the pedal order of the chain? There's 2 multi-effects pedals on there and that makes the order tricky.
9yover 9 years ago
I'm not knowledgeable on that front. I would think so because there are 2 extra jacks in the back.

I offered a friend of mine $250 to take it. That's over 100 off and the pedal is practically unused.

I figured I would save some cash and avoid getting the Delay for now as well. I have an Old digitech BP-200 that I believe could give it to me if I NEEDED it.
9yover 9 years ago
I have the Theta sitting around. I like having rigs that can switch between bass and guitar as well. If I need a ton of crunch, the Theta will be there. It's just a really expensive pedal that noone wants to buy and I'm stuck with, so I figured why not use the noise gate.
On this setup, I already own the TU-3 and Theta.

So more to the point, You are saying that the accent I like cannot be pinned to a certain region?
9yover 9 years ago
I ended up buying another Spector. I found an amazing deal for a Euro 5 LX in great condition and ended up saving 1400 off of it.
I tried to come up with an order that would make sense from a tonal perspective as well as a synergy/make it pretty stance. What do ya'll think?

I carved his name and location into my arm Slayer style.
Even if I was a crazed super-chester, I wouldn't have the time or money to take a trip across the pond.

If I had a thing for young people, I have one of my own.... muwahahaha
No Aqualung allowed :)
9yover 9 years ago
I don't think so :) Not often anyway.
About 15 years back, people all had usernames with their real names and significant numbers tied in. JoeSchmoe90210
Then about 10 years ago a surge of people using drug related usernames. Everything became GanjaJohn420 or B0wl$moker.

I have the money for a Kemper now, but I just cannot do it. It would cost 1200 for me to get the pedalboard I planned out and this board would allow me to do a lot. Pitch shifting, drop tunings without actually messing with my tuning pegs, chorus, synth sounds, delay (I've never used delay before), and compression. The Kemper; however, is so much amp in such a small package. I stared at the Kemper for hours before assuming that it would NOT be able to replicate delay or pitch shifting.
I feel like a failure for some reason. It's hard to describe beyond that. I was looking towards a Kemper for so long and to go a different route now feels like I'm doing something deceitful.
9yover 9 years ago
That was a smart move Jos. Anyone under 18 shouldn't use their real name, zip, or address I feel. It's just too inviting for the creeps of the world.
My favorite fake name to use for things, mostly RPG's and such, was Irriael . If you pronounce it into a recording and play it backwards, it will say my true given name from birth. I always thought it had a cool ancient sound to it. In Hebrew, it translates to Fire-Bad-God or Light-Disagreeable-God. Either way, that name is hard AF.

Can you make a video or audio sample? :) Would be sweet to hear your accent, then your parents' accents.
Then it would be fun to hear you guys do an American accent of your choice.
