The answer is always yes. Invest in quality goods, take care of them, and then if you wish to put them away you can sell them for a good price again. If you buy lower quality items, chances are you will have a hard time selling them.

You also have to ask yourself this question. Are YOU worth investing in? If this is your dream and you really want to make a good go at it, then you need to give yourself a fair shake. You can spend the money on equipment that in the end may make you frustrated and angry that you bought them. You should always research and save up for your gear. Buy the item you knew you wanted front the start and it will save you from having to buy any more later.

I bought a cheap USB input for recording bass lines and such. It was a Behringer. Spent $30 on it. Such a mistake. I researched around a bit and ended up decided to get my Xenyx USB mixer. Way, way, way better gear than the former.

Samson is a more recognizable name and looking at the miscrophone, it has what your looking for.

If you can afford it, Sennheisers and Neumanns are a well respected microphone companies and Audio Technica is a decent half-way point to them. Generally it goes Nuemann, Sennheiser, Rode, Shure/Audio Technica

The first thing you mentioned was rap which is essentially talking and yelling. You will want a large diaphragm, cardioid condenser mic for this. If you don't want a dedicated power source or to have to buy batteries a ton, I would suggest getting a USB mixer that can give off phantom power to your microphone. For the USB Mixer, I would suggest the Behringer XENYX 1204USB. Behringer isn't a great company, but these newer mixers are solid and have a lot of nice features for the price. Buy getting a USB mixer, you also allow yourself to not rely on a USB mic, but gain access to any microphone you could need or come across.

Single most important tonal change a bassist can make is the preamp. It makes and breaks the pickups. With a strong enough preamp, you can make fingers sound like a pick and a pick sound like fingers.

Without looking up the specs, I would say the Fender pickups are likely to be better, especially if they are the noiseless variety. The difference may not be too noticeable to some though in tone.

I don't know what tone you are going for, but I think you may like dropping in some barts.

It's one of the many signs that Guitar Center is declining. Closing stores, not honoring guarantees, and less product. When they have a sale around here, they never seem to order more.

It is common for certain basses to stay up in the classifieds for a long time. It all depends on the demand for the model and year. If it was sold, he would have marked the post as Sold and/or left a post stating that it's gone. You have a good shot at him still having it.

I paid for a lifetime basic membership which I think was 80 bucks. If you buy gear a couple of times a year, it's worth the price. The single greatest well of bass knowledge with a constant flow of gear at low prices. TalkBass members often give low prices to other members. Their same item will be on ebay or craigslist for more.

800 is pretty reasonable for a MIJ Fender. I found one on eBay just now for that price.

When I hunt for bass guitars, I usually look on TalkBass.com . You must be a paying member to use their classifieds but I've gotten some amazing deals there. Bought my 2,500 Atelier for 1200.

Scary stuff. In the U.S., we have the "Oath Keepers", which are supposed to uphold their oath and stop foreign AND domestic threats to our liberty. Basically, if we get a president that turns dictator and starts things like firing on civilian populations here, the Oath Keepers are supposed to take over law enforcement and military from within. The idea being to stall the tragedy and allow time for citizens to unite and hold their ground. I don't know if it would work, but it is in place. I do not know if this Turkish military's reasons are wholesome or not because I admittedly do not know much about Turkish politics. Just 6 months ago I was debating joining the forces and trying to get station in Turkey like my dad was. I wonder what this new military is doing to/for U.S. soldiers in the country.

I for one am not offended. I enjoy casual, comfortable discussion. I only raise an eyebrow when we start name calling and shaming. I think most of us are mature enough not to do that. The day we all start closing out other people's views and ideas, we've lost.

Omar Mateen had passed charges involving drugs and battery. That particular shooter was also religiously motivated, which would allow for more normal people to be involved. I think the fact that the FBI had already looked at him a few times for suspicion of joining a terrorist organization already illuminates him as a law abiding citizen.

The idea that I would not be allowed to protect myself in a world where criminals will always have firearms scares me more. The only people that will follow a gun ban would be lawful citizens. These shootings are not done by lawful citizens. Having firearms is a defense mechanism against tyrannical government, foreign invasion, and general robbery and such.

The first firearm I ever bought was bought out of needing protection. A meth gang bought 9 apartments in our area, the apartment next to us at that time was one of the leaders. We started getting death threats for calling the police "which always took longer than a pizza to get to us". One night, the gang tried to scare by surround our place, pounding on all the doors and walls, and threatening us. All I had on the other side was a hammer and a kitchen knife. Thinking that at any minute those scum bags could come in and hurt my mother and I was the last straw for me. I became a responsible gun owner the next day. Those gang members had all likely been to prison before and probably weren't allowed to own firearms, certainly not meth. That did not stop them from having them though. Having that first firearm brought a sense of security that only our gun laws could. If those guys decided to come into the house the next time, they would be met with lethal force. If I survived the encounter, our gun laws as well as Texas'es self defense laws would protect me and my family. We are hoping that the law changes soon to get rid of gun-free zones. These criminals generally attack gun-free zones. Schools and such. It's what we refer to as soft targets. They know that the chances of someone having a firearm in these areas and being able to shoot back are low, and that's what attracts them.

These shootings aren't often performed by people like me, owning firearms for protection, no criminal record, no mental health record. Eugenics makes more logic than a gun ban. Both are extraordinarily horrible though.

It continually surprises me that these forums actually exist. It feels so weird even though i've been using them for over five years. Haven't found many good ones, though. UG forums are so massive that it's useless. I think Seymour has one, but I dropped that as well as Fender. Never got around to any others. The non musical forums... Not saying what it was, but that shit was fucking toxic. Every once in a blue moon, I return there to check up. They're falling apart, so I'm okay with that.

I agree. The more music you can actually play, the wider the range of value bands will have for you. A begginer/non-musician will likely have 3 categories. I hate it, It's okay, I love it. An artist paints in many shades.

For me, AC/DC always sounded boring and easy. The chords Angus Young plays though are beyond my fingers though and when I've attempted to learn some of their hits, the guitar sections make my hand hurt.

One more question, amp wise for the acoustic, could I use a Vox AC1 in busking or would it not be enough? Thanks

For tone and feel, I love my cheap Mitchel I got from GC for about $100.

For all the bells and whistles, I like my Ovation Celebrity acoustic.

If you go used, Takamine and Taylor are generally good. Fender's acoustics do not impress me.

Everytime I submit something it stays pending and wont be submitted properly, at this point other people are posting items that i've had pending for weeks and when I try to approve them it give me a 404 error. E.g http://equipboard.com/pros/jake-ewald

The way it works is once you submit an item, it stays as "needs review" until other members agree that the item, description, and source are all correct. Some artists' pages are less known than others and might take a longer amount of time to be visited. If there is a discrepancy with the source, item, or description, the item goes under "needs improvement".

The 404 thing si weird. Tell us whether you are using a PC or a phone as well as what OS you are using and what browser. That will help us determine what may be causing the error.
