Go watch "Arrival". It's the first movie in a long while that had me watching with my mouth open.

I enjoy your music postings. The part I find most interesting is the tempo and feel of the songs. It's like, your music is on a different wave length than mine. I almost want to say you write slightly faster than me, but even my fast metal-y songs feel like they are in a different.... wave or something. Your music makes me feels slightly rushed and uncomfortable. I'm not knocking it, I just find this very interesting.
I need to record something and post it for you. I'm wondering if my music would feel boring and slow to you.

I'm interested.
I found EB because I was searching for Alex Webster's gear. He had a couple of YouTube videos that would help, but I wanted to see if there was more that wasn't being shown. EB Was on the first page of search results fortunately. I Webster's page was fairly empty, so I made an account and started filling it up. I now mostly specialize in bass players. I just don't feel the urge to add to many guitarists unless it's a band I don't think will be covered for a while.

The information box I was mentioning is the "Artist Quote or Explanation" when submitting, and can be altered through editing when you clicked "Added more details". You would go to an artist's instrument and click "more", all the information to the right of the source and under the item is what I was referring to.
I like the search feature you talked about. The site has in fact added a first version of the already with the category feature on items. I'm sure in time it will be more in-depth. For now, there are other issues they are working on. Just about once a month I feel we get a huge new feature, be it for the staff or for the users. Duplicate submissions was a big one, and is a feature that will definitely shape the whole site a little more.

I spoke to a friend of mine recently who is closer to the younger culture than I. He said the wonky tunings are about laziness. Instead of fingering the notes they want, they just bar everything. So instead of playing an E Minor by holding down 2 stings, they tune to E B G G B E... or something.
If this is true, it seems more debilitating to me because you wouldn't be able to play anything else but what you've written in that tuning because the notes that could normally be reach with your left hand are stretched even further apart. Makes chords impossible and limits aperson to play on open notes a lot.

I'm in the camp that if you own a Shelby GT Cobra Mustang, you don't need to bother making a brand new submission to note that your's has an air conditioner or halo lights. The details like this would better fit in the additional information box to the right of the item. That way we don't alienate all artists from each other due to one having a different color or year, but we still allow people to discover intricate details about their favorite artists' gear.
I for one would be irritated if I just wanted to see who all used a Spector Euro bass and it only pulled up one artist, because all the others who use it are hidden with years, colors, etc. The way we have managed it until now would allow me to see all artists who use that Spector Euro, and then compare how each artists' differs from another.

Let me also add that I do not suggest using 3 volume knobs. It's nearly impossible to do fades and swells like that.

I own 2 basses that run with 2 jazz pickups and 1 MM between them. If I can find my screwdriver set, I could take a picture of their innards, but they wont have they setup you want.
My Atelier Z JHJ bass doesn't allow you to use the MM and the Jazz pickups at the same time, so it won't help you.
My Carvin has this setup on it.

There used to be an actual online fetish site for... get this... Furniture Porn.
It would be glamour shots of a chair on top of a table, or a foot stool upside down and under one end of a love seat. It was the least offensive, but more confusing porn site ever.

It's a term used for any hobbiest or enthusiast galleries of special or high end items they admire. It's pretty common to hear even on television these days. Food porn is used on the cooking network and travel networks often.

Couldn't you just finger that open G on the fretboard when it's in Standard E and get the same sound though?

I used zip ties and Velcro on my board. The zip ties did not hold my pedals in place as tightly as I wished. I prefer the velcro also because I change my pedal order nearly every show.

I don't know what vsauce is, but I found this video such a kick to the balls of American patriotism. I believe JFK was our last real president, and my respect for him went even higher when I discovered that he forbade Operation Backwoods to happen. Good on him.

I like my Sabbath like I like my coffee....
I've never seen any evidence to support this. Saying he's a Christian because he wears a cross is like calling a hipster a Tibetan tribesman for wearing an ear gauge.

Crate G-15
Very used, Dusty, and Smelled Badly

I had my Takamine GE-400 GT for about 6 months without any amplification. The next time we went through Odessa, we hit a pawn shop and asked them for a cheap amp. They got us cable and the Crate for $40 I think. The amp I still have, but it is in dire straights. A plate of glass crushed into the top, the handle broke, the knobs are scratchy, the speaker is blown. I really don't know why I still have it. Wait... I may not. I could be in my closet right now, but I just don't feel like looking.
I always played it turned way up and on the overdrive feature. Taught myself most of Anesthesia: Pulling Teeth on it.

Studio Monitors-Any Recommendations?
agreed, also, measure your penis
Because it should... like... match up to the size of the woofer? o_O
If that's true, looks like I need an upgrade :)
My recommendation for studio monitor:
JBL LSR308

I feel neutral about it. I won't create a campaign to end him, but I won't buy the CD either. It didn't sound exceptional to me.

Where to start when writing Guitar ???
You just play around with your instrument. Hit random notes, make patterns, think of a tune in your head and try to replicate it on the guitar. You will eventually hit a pattern that sounds cool to you.

Where to start when writing Guitar ???
None of the above.
If you want to WRITE music, you need to let it come from a pure place in you, not angus young, billy whatever his name is, or Dave Grohl.
Just fiddle with the guitar on your own. When you find notes or a position that you find interesting , write it down and play with that riff you made up.

Starting a Band in a SHIT Town???
You can play some Amon Amarth. I'd go to a show of that.

I would think it's okay unless it's a strat just with a different pickup or something. If it's a completely different company that isn't represented on the site already, I say go for it. If it's let's say a Fender Strat that you ordered with a custom preamp or something, then I would say to just add in the notes that yours is customized that way.

I used to hate on Nickleback like everyone is in the wagon. One day, I was invited to spend the weekend with a coworker and his family and in the car ride up to Amarillo, he listened to a great hits Nickleback album. I fought it at first, but I actually think they are a decent band and I can see why people enjoy them. Maybe in a couple of years I can actually see listening to a song or two again.
