Founded by Zach Broyles in 2010, Mythos Pedals is a boutique effects pedal builder based outside Nashville, Tennessee. Broyles began modifying guitar effects in the mid-2000s before designing his own circuits, and after a stint working at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville, he committed to Mythos full-time in late 2017. The company is a small, hands-on operation — Broyles works alongside General Manager Matthew Timmons and Lead Builder Jeff Salter to produce pedals spanning overdrive, fuzz, boost, octave, modulation, and utility categories.
Mythos is best known for transparent, touch-sensitive drive pedals that respond dynamically to pick attack and guitar volume adjustments. The Mjolnir Overdrive, a Klon-inspired circuit, is the brand's flagship and has earned widespread acclaim for its clarity and feel. The Golden Fleece Fuzz is another staple — a deceptively simple single-knob fuzz praised for its expressiveness. Other notable models include the Argo Octave Fuzz, Herculean Deluxe Overdrive, Chupacabra CMOS Overdrive, and The Fates Chorus.
The brand has developed artist collaborations with players including Rhett Shull (the Lark), RJ Ronquillo (the Susmaryosep), and Rob Chapman (the Titan). Guitarists Joey Landreth and Ariel Posen are also known users. Mythos pedals are carried by well-regarded dealers including Chicago Music Exchange, Wildwood Guitars, and Peach Guitars.
Mythos Pedals has 49 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Overdrive Effects Pedals, Fuzz Effects Pedals, and Distortion Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 21 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Blues, and Folk, World, & Country. Notable users include Joey Landreth, Ariel Posen, and Chris Buck. Mythos Pedals's catalog spans the full price spectrum — from entry-level options to high-end flagships.
