Mythos Pedals Oracle Analog Echo review: old-school delay tones with modern convenience

guitar.com

Mythos Pedals’ Oracle Analog Echo delivers vintage-inspired delay tones with a modern twist, impressing with its warm, musical repeats and intuitive controls. It effectively captures the spirit of classic 80s delays while adding features like tap tempo and true-bypass switching, making it a versatile addition to any pedalboard. However, while it excels in producing lush sounds and reduced background noise compared to older units, some users might find the limited delay time range of 600ms a drawback for more experimental setups. Overall, the Oracle stands out for its quality and convenience, though it may not fully satisfy those seeking extreme delay lengths.

My favourite analogue delay

This is my favourite analogue delay. I’ve compared it to the Analogman dual delay, and many times have been close to buying the Suhr Discovery, but that would mean removing this from my board, and I just don’t wanna. So so good. So so simple. And with tap tempo!

Sounds great, but also…

Outside a buffered signal chain you’ll notice a significant high end and volume boost. I can’t find online if this is a buffered circuit, but it seems to be.

Outside of that, it’s a great sounding pedal that does exactly what I need/want a delay to do. I’m a set it and forget it type of delay player, accept for the time. This pairs perfectly with my Quartz external tap tempo.

I recommend it, if you use a loop switching system.
