Founded in 2011 by Bryce Young in his garage in Texas, Warm Audio has built a reputation for producing faithful recreations of iconic studio equipment at accessible price points. The company designs, develops, and tests all of its products in-house at its Austin, Texas headquarters, where every unit is hand-inspected before shipping. Warm Audio achieves its price-to-performance ratio through meticulous component selection — sourcing CineMag and Altran USA transformers, Russian Tung-Sol and JJ Slovak tubes, Kenetek opto-cells, and Wima and Solen capacitors — combined with efficient manufacturing and tight quality control.
The product lineup spans microphones, preamps, compressors, equalizers, and guitar pedals. On the studio side, the WA-87 and WA-47 condenser microphones are among the brand's best-known offerings, modeled after the Neumann U 87 and Neumann/Telefunken U 47 respectively. The WA-76 and WA-2A compressors recreate the 1176 and LA-2A, while the WA-73-EQ channels the sound of classic British console preamps. The four-channel WA-412 and the Bus-Comp stereo VCA compressor round out the rack-mount lineup. Warm Audio has also expanded into guitar effects with pedals like the Centavo overdrive (based on the Klon Centaur circuit), the Jet Phaser, and the Warmdrive.
Warm Audio operates a multi-room recording facility called Warm Studios at its Austin headquarters, where the company tests its own products under real production conditions and invites artists and engineers to record. The brand's gear has been adopted by a wide range of working musicians, producers, and engineers across genres.
Warm Audio has 75 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Condenser Microphones, Preamps, and Effects Processors. Their gear is featured by 81 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Pop, and Electronic. Notable users include Ryan "Fluff" Bruce, George Clanton, and Edward Smith. Warm Audio's catalog spans the full price spectrum — from entry-level options to high-end flagships.
