AKG C 451 B Condenser Microphone This photo is one in a pair of the magical overheads I have nearly exclusively been using in my studio for ten years. These are the mics used on Rumours from Fleetwood Mac.
While I was given microphones from several top companies for recordings for documentaries and other film work, etc., there is only ONE contender to these....
The detail range of capture with little to no processing are the proof AKG has an amazing microphone that has stood as the go-to for decades!
Please note that if you do see my name as a drummer on albums, often is that case that I may not the be the producer and or the session was NOT in my studio, so the microphones used may not be what you are hearing.

Sennheiser GRUNDIG DSM202 (1960's) An amazing and mostly unknown stereo mic solution created by Sennheiser, sold as a companion to a reel to reel via Grundig. This combo separate physically and sounds absolutely impressive! Recordings from these have wound up in tv shows, films, album and other releases I have produced over the last few years. Kudos to my mate, Sylvia, to cluing me into these initially during our hunt for oddities.

Evgeniy Gorbunov uses Shure SM58
Evgeniy Gorbunov confirmed in an interview with Look At Me that he uses the Shure SM58 microphone at concerts, noting, "My voice sounds great through it. It has a button that I've found creative uses for - you can use it to create a tremolo effect on your voice by quickly turning it on and off." He further mentioned that recording with the Shure at home can sometimes make his voice sound like he has a stuffy nose, humorously adding, "Although it might actually be stuffy, it's best to blow your nose before recording."

Evgeniy Gorbunov uses Sabian AAX Crash Cymbal
Evgeniy Gorbunov has confirmed his use of the Sabian AAX Crash Cymbal in an interview with Look At Me. He stated: "Sabian AAX Crash Cymbal. This cymbal has a rich history: it's been used at many rock concerts, and it once belonged to Sergey Ledovsky, named Moscow's best indie drummer by Afisha magazine. It's a bit dented - I may have added the cracks myself. I use it on stage during our shows to add more life and metal to them."

Evgeniy Gorbunov has confirmed the use of the Mackie 402-VLZ3 4-Channel Mixer in an interview with Look At Me, where he stated: "Mackie 402-VLZ3 mixer. It's not the worst mixer, but our sound engineer friend, who knows his stuff, says the Mackie is crap. But I think the Mackie in this series is a pretty decent little thing, and it's perfect for home use."

Evgeniy Gorbunov uses INFRASONIC Windy6 Audio/MIDI Interface
In an interview with Look At Me, Evgeniy Gorbunov confirmed his use of the INFRASONIC Windy6 Audio/MIDI Interface, stating: "Infrasonic Windy 6 sound card. My friends and I all have these cards because a friend once said, 'Here's a decent card, go get it...' and we believed him. It's Korean, a very strange manufacturer. But for Mac users, it's great because you just plug it into Firewire, and it works right away. I've only heard bad reviews about it from people who tried to reflash it."

Evgeniy Gorbunov uses Yamaha MSP5 Studio Active Studio Monitors
Evgeniy Gorbunov has confirmed using the Yamaha MSP5 Studio Active Studio Monitors, stating in an interview with Look At Me: "Yamaha MSP5 monitors. I got these monitors a month ago, and I'm incredibly happy about it. Before that, I was using Mikrolab Solo-1s, a cheap multimedia speaker we bought for 1,500 rubles. They sounded okay overall, but they lacked the detail that monitors have."

Evgeniy Gorbunov uses novation supernova 2 synth
In an interview featured on Look At Me, Evgeniy Gorbunov confirmed his use of the Novation Supernova II synthesizer, stating: "The Novation [Supernova II] is a fun instrument given to us by Sergey Ledovsky (drummer of the band NRKTK). It's a synth from 1998, and it's perfect for trance. I usually write arpeggiators and all sorts of silly basslines on it, but the pads sound terrible. The drummer generally buys a lot of synths, old drum machines, and pedals and tries to lend them to us, to get us interested in them, but for now this synth is enough for me; I've had it for almost two years, and Sergey hasn't asked for it back, for which I'm grateful."
