I used to have a bedroom, now it's a studio with a bed in it.

I knew the next step up from my 37-key would be something with 49 keys but I also wanted something with aftertouch to further manipulate my hardware synths but still retain the expression pedal socket for my sample libraries and vsts (could use this for hardware synths with assignable CC too), I found this at the end of that search and I couldn't be happier!
The keybed is fantastic for me! The weight is just right to be able to play without manipulating the aftertouch unintentionally, perfect for the practicing pianist and keyboardist!
Typically priced around $150 and $190 (new). I couldn't find many controllers that beat this especially at this price!

Photos don't quite capture its magnificence. I thought it was going to be bright yellow but upon unboxing mine I saw it for what it truly is: GOLD!
I bought for the pads and I didn't plan on editing any of the presets but I got curious because this is my first E-MU so I just had to cursor around the 2 line LCD and menu dive a bit and I found out really quickly that editing is simple to do! I wish my TR-Rack had that much thought put into its front panel.
I stumbled upon this unit at a competitive price on ebay and I didn't yet have a GS midi module, so I went ahead and bought it. It's too hi-fi to be compared to the sound canvases series but it handles midi playback well, CCs too!
Thanks to all its connectivity options: usb 2.0 (24-bit audio & midi), two midi pairs, digital interface (S/PDIF or ADAT), analog interface (rca on the rear side or mono 1/4" on the front side), it's very convenient!
Normally, Windows 11 won't let the driver from roland's site install but if you edit the file and disable the driver signature enforcement, you too, can enjoy all the features of the EDIROL SD-90.

I actually want to buy another one of these but I can't find one under $150 (including shipping) anymore. I was lucky to find this at that price for my first audio interface (midi in the rear is rare too!)
I love how much you can control just from the front panel! These work the best with other MOTUs, I read about issues clocking over ADAT on the internet but I haven't had a single one (all channels active), I suspect its the fact that my master interface is also a MOTU.
