Burns Bison Bass

guitarinteractivemagazine.com

The Burns Bison Bass Guitar shines as a standout reissue with its unmistakable '60s aesthetic and impressive tonal versatility. Packed with multiple rotary switches, it offers a wide palette of sounds that remain strong and purposeful. Despite its Chinese manufacturing, the quality craftsmanship is evident, with an inviting neck profile and stylish details like the iconic 'batwing' headstock. While its slightly larger feel may not suit everyone, the Bison excels in delivering a resonant and full-bodied tone, even with standard flatwound strings. It's a beautifully made instrument that appeals to both vintage enthusiasts and new-generation bass players alike.

Looks nice, good tone options but VERY long!

You cannot play this bass if you have short arms because the low notes are a long reach.

"I also stumbled upon an old Burns Bison bass. That is the heaviest instrument I've played, it weighed a ton but it is the closest in its bottom end to the Thunderbird. That bass brought life to a few tracks. I'm still using the Ampeg. I haven't found anything that will better it."
