Description

An idiophone by definition, the Jenco Celeste features a set of graduated tuned metal bars similar to a glockenspiel. When a key is struck, a hammer makes contact with the metal bar, and the sound is amplified by the resonator tube above the note.

Jenco was a manufacturer of percussion instruments based in Decatur, Illinois. Some of the instruments that they manufactuered include xylophones, celestas, celestettes, marimbas, vibra-bells, glockenspiels, timpani, orchestra bells, and tubular chimes.
