Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about MEEAudio M6 PRO (2nd Generation) In-Ear Monitors with Detachable Cables.

Features and functionality

  • The MEEAudio M6 PRO 2nd Gen includes two detachable cables, a major selling point for durability as cords are often the first to fail in IEMs.

    Source
  • The IEMs come with two visually distinct cables, one with a microphone and controls, the other a simple cable.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners report that these IEMs are very mid-forward, highlighting vocals and mids, which can cause complex mixes to sound jumbled.

    Source
  • The IEMs provide a crisp response with vocals standing out, but can be unforgiving to poorly mixed or mastered tracks.

    Source
  • Users with small ears appreciate the comfort, noting they can sleep on their side with these IEMs.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • For the price, the MEEAudio M6 PRO 2nd Gen offers outstanding quality, especially for those preferring a flat monitor to accentuate mix details.

    Source

Build quality

  • Users appreciate the smokey-clear finish and lightweight design, which is both reassuring and a bit concerning for durability.

    Source
  • The M6 PRO's memory wire ear loops are more malleable than those on the ATH IM02, enhancing comfort and fit.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • These IEMs are particularly suited for stripped-down tracks and genres like classic R&B and hip-hop, where they shine in revealing mix details.

    Source
  • They are less effective with modern, complex tracks where the mid-heavy nature can lead to a cluttered sound stage.

    Source
  • The M6 PRO's thin, supple cables and ear loops effectively reduce microphonics, making them suitable for workouts.

    Source
  • MEEAudio M6 PROs are marketed as sweat-resistant, suggesting suitability for running and other physical activities.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Some owners prefer the M6 PRO over the SE215 for sound quality, despite SE215's edge in comfort, build quality, and isolation.

Critic Reviews

Review: Mee Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation | Headphonesty

headphonesty.com

The MEE Audio M6 PRO (2nd Gen) offers commendable features for its budget-friendly price, such as detachable cables, a strong bass response, and a customizable design. Its V-shaped sound signature makes it suitable for bass-heavy genres and workouts. However, the exposed circuitry gives it a cheap look, and the 2mm DC connectors are less user-friendly compared to universal MMCX. While it’s a fun choice for casual listening, its musician-grade credentials are questionable. Overall, it's a decent, versatile option in the budget IEM category, but doesn't stand out significantly.

Mee Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation review | What Hi-Fi?

whathifi.com

The MEEAudio M6 PRO (2nd Generation) in-ear monitors offer solid bass and dynamic performance at a budget-friendly price. Featuring detachable cables, these IEMs are a step up from their predecessors, but they still struggle with sharp treble that can be harsh and fatiguing during prolonged listening. While the design is improved, the basic construction and lack of an in-line remote might deter some users. Overall, they provide decent value, but competitors like Beyerdynamic and SoundMagic offer a more balanced sound experience.

I'm a simple guy, when something does the work done I approve. The M6 PRO sure fit in this category. And the price...

Worth every penny.

I use these primarily at band practice and they sound amazing. They come with a case and all kinds of extras. The 2nd gen are only currently available on the MEE Audio website, in clear or black.
