MSI GE72VR Apache Pro (GTX 1060) Review - General Analysis | TechPowerUp

techpowerup.com

The MSI GE72VR Apache Pro impresses with its sleek design and solid build quality, adding a vibrant RGB LED keyboard for flair. While its performance and cooling system are commendable, the lack of access hatches for easy upgrades is disappointing, especially at its $1599 price point. Noise levels can also rise with the "Cooler Boost" feature. The inclusion of Norton as bloatware is a drawback, though other pre-installed apps are useful. Overall, it's a capable gaming laptop, but with room for improvement in accessibility and bundled software.

MSI GE72VR 6RF Apache Pro Notebook Review - NotebookCheck.net Reviews

notebookcheck.net

The MSI GE72VR Apache Pro is a solid gaming laptop with a sleek design, robust build, and a gamer-friendly 120 Hz display. Its powerful GeForce GTX 1060 GPU and Intel Core i7 processor deliver commendable performance for most current games. However, the laptop is let down by its mediocre battery life, a sluggish SD card reader, and a cramped touchpad. While MSI's Dragon Center and RGB keyboard lighting add flair, the lack of NVMe-SSD and only average system performance for its price range make it less competitive against rivals with faster GPUs. Overall, a decent choice for gamers prioritizing display and build quality over raw power.

Great, powerful laptop, with sub-par battery life and heavy weight.

Picked this up almost a year ago for around $1500, and it runs things with flying colors. I've recently switched to a Macbook Air for better battery life, portability, and... GarageBand. I still use this one to play games alot though, it's a beast for that.
