The Roland TD-8 electronic drum kit impresses with its authentic feel and sound, thanks to its V-Drum modeling technology and mesh heads. The kit's sequencer and onboard sounds add versatility, suitable for practice and simple compositions. While the ride cymbal's consistency and the external PSU's robustness could be improved, the kit's overall playability and recording ease make it a worthwhile investment for serious musicians. It offers a practical solution for quality drum recordings in small studios, despite not being a budget alternative to acoustic kits.

Great Kit

While it's not a TD-50KV this is a great kit. Passed down from my dad (the drummer in a local band) who upgraded to a TD-12 I think that this is great but it rattles the house around from upstairs.

"For other tracks in New Order's live shows, a click pulse from the DR16 was fed to Stephen's headphones so that he could play his Roland TD8 electronic drum kit in time to the assorted sampled material."
