Description
The .strandberg* Boden Bass Original 5 is not just another bass guitar; it's a revolution in design and playability. This 5-string marvel is crafted for the discerning bassist who demands both form and function. The lightweight chambered swamp ash body, paired with a solid flame maple top, delivers a resonance and aesthetic that stands out on any stage. The absence of a traditional headstock reduces weight, making it perfect for extended performances without back strain.
One of its standout features is the patented EndurNeck design. This 12-ply roasted maple neck with its unique trapezoid back ensures ergonomic comfort and swift playability across all registers. This, coupled with the roasted maple fingerboard, provides a silky-smooth touch that bassists will appreciate, especially when navigating the 24 Jescar jumbo stainless steel frets.
The heart of the Boden Bass Original 5 lies in its Nordstrand Zen Blade noiseless single-coil pickups, which offer a stunning palette of tones. Whether you’re laying down jazz grooves or rocking out on stage, the integrated Nordstrand 3-band preamp with bass, treble, and mid controls allows for comprehensive sonic customization. With options for both active and passive play, this bass is as versatile as it is innovative.

Ben Kenney has been seen using a .strandberg* Boden Bass Original 5 in multiple Instagram photos and recent live videos with Incubus. Although I selected a 5-string for this entry, he also owns two 4-string versions, as confirmed by his tweets.
In the attached video, Simon can be seen playing a .strandberg* 5 string bass. Of the 2 models of 5 string bass .strandberg* currently offers, this bass matches the description of the Original (as opposed to the Prog), based on the wood that makes up the bass's body.
Edit: the description of the video shares that the bass is a prototype with the Darkglass ToneCapsule Preamp, which is featured in the Prog model of the Boden Bass. However, this bass technically is neither a Boden Bass Prog, nor Original. This will have to be edited later.
