Tech 21 Bass Compactor processor

soundonsound.com

The Tech 21 NYC Bass Compactor is a robust, user-friendly solution for bassists seeking to enhance their sound with minimal fuss. Housed in a durable die-cast box, it offers a straightforward interface with a single compression knob and a two-band EQ, optimized for bass frequencies. While it lacks a speaker simulator, the Compactor effectively boosts bass presence in a mix, making it suitable for both live performances and studio sessions. Its simplicity is its strength, but careful setting of the compression is crucial to avoid unwanted 'pumping' effects. Overall, it's a solid all-in-one box for bass players.

Not good, not bad.

It work fine in my opinion but you have get used to it. After dialling the compression knob past 4 the pedal starts to be noisy. Luckily the compression amount from 0-4 is enough for bass. The cool feature is that the EQ and Level knobs work even if compression is at 0 - so the pedal can also be used as a EQ or db booster.
