In a YouTube video from the early days of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Cook Craig can be seen playing a Fender Mustang Electric Guitar with a natural finish and a black pickguard. The video, titled "KG&TLW - Crookedile," was recorded at Boogie 6 in Tallarook on April 8, 2012.

in this murlocs preformance for “like a version” on tripple J, cook is playing a sunburst p bass with a tortoise pickguard. this is different than his go-to, which is walnut with a white guard. I also think that this is the bass that lucas of king gizzard and the lizard wizard used in the video for “lord of lightning”

During The Murlocs' performance on Highway Holidays TV, Cook Craig is seen using an Ampeg SVT-CL Classic bass amplifier head. It's likely borrowed from Lucas, as Cook typically doesn't use this setup, whereas Lucas does. The proof is a user-uploaded photo from the event.

Again from the same session he used the SVT head, an accompanying 8x10 cab can be seen behind him.

This video of Cook's old band Revolver & Sun shows him playing a black Deluxe Jaguar Bass.

At 13:51, we see a great view of Cook's pedalboard. My guess is Cook's HM-2 is the newer Waza version, considering the other new gear he has acquired recently.

At 13:51, you see a great shot of Cook's pedalboard. Front and center is the Death by Audio Echo Master. The whole band outside of Ambrose (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) uses these on their vocals.

At 13.51, you see a great shot of Cook's pedalboard. The JHS Superbolt can be seen next to the Boss heavy metal and near an unidentified white pedal and his vibrato pedal.

At 13:51, you see a great shot of Cook's pedalboard. Contrary to my previous submission, the knobs indicate that this black pedal next to the JHS superbolt is actually the new Waza craft version of the metal zone.

In the 'Dragon' music video, Cookie can be seen with a Gibson Corvus. I am unsure if it is his or borrowed from another member however he uses for essentially the duration of the video. Its hard to tell what pickups he has on it, because of the dark lighting in the video. We get some shots of it at: 2:00, 7:03, and 7:52.

Originally used by Stu Mackenzie to replace the Holy Explorer, this guitar is now used by Cook Craig as his metal guitar as of their Boston Calling performance.

Cookie is featured on Novo Guitars' website under their 'Artist' page. His custom Serus J is visible in the photo. This is also confirmed in this Instagram post:

Specs vary between each of these guitars, so it is difficult to identify the exact spec of Cookie's guitar. However, this closeup is the best available and shows his Serus J is loaded with humbuckers and has a stop tail bridge.

This photograph was taken in an Australian music store prior to their performance at "Play on the Plains" in Deniliquin on 9th March 2024. On the very far right, a Yamaha SG-85 can be spotted.

Cookie can be seen playing it during the "Play on the Plains" show, particularly for the metal tracks. This video of 'Dragon' demonstrates this:

In the YouTube livestream of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's show in Boston, Cook Craig can be seen using the Cre8audio NiftyKEYZ Keyboard and Eurorack Case. Specifically, the case is visible at the beginning of the video and clearly on display around the 1:50 mark, although at that moment, Cook Craig is playing his Juno.

Find it on:

At 1:50, there is a clear shot of Cookie's Eurorack, contained in a niftykeys case from cre8audio. Due to stage lighting, cables, and the camera angle, it is hard to make out many of the modular units themselves, but the Pamela's new workout is very clearly the first unit in his rack, right next to the niftykeys' built-in mod and pitch wheels.

You can see in this clip here (at 13:50) Cookie uses the infamous Boss MT-2 Metal Zone.

In this performance of King Gizzard's song "Dragon", as well as other songs in C# or Drop B on the last tour, Cook has played a Serus J Baritone in the black finish, sporting the products standard Lollar Mini-Broilers. Cook has notably modified his to have a string-thru system as opposed to the mastery vibrator arm that usually comes on all Serus J models, as he generally has never used a whammy bar. This is also backed up by photos posted by Novo Guitars of Cook playing both his Serus J (or perhaps Serus h2, since it has humbuckers and a tele bridge) and his baritone model.

Cook Craig was seen performing with a Yamaha SG-5A guitar during King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's concert at Forest Hills Stadium in New York in August 2025. Photographic evidence from the event clearly shows the guitar's distinctive adjustable bridge, Yamaha logo on the headstock, and the later-style tremolo unit, which are characteristic features of the SG-5A model.
