Herman Li
Herman Li's Gear
"I approached the guitar making like I'm doing a race car. This is a tool for a job: go fast, be accurate, and do everything I need to do day-to-day, and I can go to job [sic] and then drive this thing." Li's current main instruments are prototypes of a completely bespoke design he is designing alongside PRS. The flashiest feature is the custom dragon inlays, a parody of the iconic PRS birds. It also has a custom Saber-esque maple/mahogany body, and even the neck shape and joint are original designs from Li. After breaking a neck with his infamous hip check at Hellfest 2022, Li and PRS have been continuing to iterate on reinforcing the joint. It previously had his same DiMarzio HLM pickups and the Edge Zero bridge that his E-Gen signatures had, but Li has now changed the pickups for a Fishman HSH set, and plans to replace the bridge.
He uses his purple 1.14mm signature Dunlop Tortex with a matte grip so that it doesn't slip off his hands. Seen at 11:32 in his Rig Rundown.

In a user-uploaded photo, the specifications of a Bogner Uberschall 120-Watt Tube Guitar Amp Head are visible, despite the logo being blurred. Notably, the distinctive small circle and the white line indicating controls, including the isolated switch and volume knob, match those on the Uberschall. Herman Li is known to use two of these heads. In a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hxd7cIm1dqA), when Li broke his strap locks and exited the stage, a cabinet with two amp heads is visible in his rig area, suggesting these are the same heads he consistently uses on tour.
