The Kemper Profiler PowerRack is a versatile powerhouse, lauded for its expansive library of amp and effect profiles, making it a cherished tool for studio and live performances alike. Its dynamic profiling capabilities and MIDI compatibility allow for deep customization and seamless integration into any setup. However, its performance with a 4Ω speaker load isn't optimal, which might be a concern for some users. Incredible piece of gear

I hated playing digital plugins. It was laggy and never sounded right. I had heard about Kemper for years and the new kid on the block, the NeuralDSP Quad Cortex One day I tried a QC and was intrigued. I started getting interested in the capabilities of both Kemper and QC. Finally decided to get a Kemper PowerRack because it could power a cab. It turns out to be an incredibly versatile and configurable platform. I profiled my amp head collection using my PowerStation direct fx out and bought some good IR’s. Still not finished refining or redoing them. There are so many options and the interface is not very clear. But the result even though I’m not done yet is of such quality that I didn’t notice playing my Kemper instead of my real amps (which are in a KHE 8x4 amp/cab switcher). That is an achievement. It means the feel is the same as a real amp. And so is the sound. Mission accomplished. Congratulations Kemper. PS: anekdote: when I started exploring the (then empty) Kemper, I stumbled on a Rig in the exchange that was sounding so good. It was a 2203 with an SD-1. I couldn’t get enough of it and went out to search for an original early treble circuit 2203 and an original early ‘80ies SD-1. What a glorious sound! The only thing the Kemper doesn’t do is mimicking the transfo sag on the real 2203. Otherwise they sound equally good. But I had to have the 2203. 🤷🏼‍♂️

2-weeks into the 2019 Local Hero tour, longtime Mark Knopfler producer Guy "Dr. Fletch" Fletcher confirmed the use of Kemper Profiler amps in his 13th May 2019 - Cologne diary entry.

Mark’s long-serving guitar tech, Glenn Saggers along with Mark (when he wasn’t in Edinburgh with me preparing the Local Hero musical) has devoted much of his time in the past 6 months to recreating Mark’s unique sounds has done an amazing job. This switch from ‘real’ amps to digital devices is not for the feint-hearted and it wasn’t without its doubters.

The diary entry included an image of 2 rackmounted Kemper Profiler PowerRack 600-Watt Profiling Amps.

Lee can be seen with a kemper in his live setup. throughout this video he states that he uses real amps, but mainly uses the kemper for added sounds. He gets his main tones through his marshall, and several pedals. he adds in album tones on top of that with the kemper that otherwise would be harder to replicate. he states that the kemper is great, but it doesn't quite have the same tone he likes from his actual amps.
