Miyavi's Gear
In an Instagram post, Miyavi features the Sonuus Wahoo, highlighting its role in shaping his innovative sound with its versatile filtering capabilities.
The Taylor T5, the actual guitar that samurai guitarist MIYAVI uses at concerts, was specially displayed for the two days of the guitar show. Also, live video and photos of Miyavi from the NAMM Show 2013, which was held in America in January, were displayed at the booth.
Miyavi has been seen using the Ibanez TS808HWB Hand-Wired Tube Screamer, as shown in a post on his Instagram account. This pedal, renowned for its tube-inspired saturation, is a handwired, limited-edition version of the classic TS808, celebrated by iconic guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Miyavi's choice of this pedal highlights its premium sound quality, perfectly complementing his innovative style.
Miyavi is seen using the pandaMidi Panda Audio Future Impact I multi-effects pedal in an Instagram post, highlighting its role in creating new tracks and embracing innovative sounds.
Miyavi uses the Franklin Straps Embossed Suede 2.5" Black Guitar Strap, known for its richly embossed suede and plush, softly pebbled glove leather end tabs. This strap, designed by Greg Bennett and made in the USA, offers a luxurious blend of textures and adjusts from 46" to 56" in length. The design appears to draw inspiration from intricate fingerboard inlays, as shown in a user-uploaded photo on Akamaized.
The octave pedal newly added for the album 'Fire Bird'.
When MIYAVI was working on his album Fire Bird 2016 he used his "Travel Kit" including the CME Xkey keyboard and Apple Logic Pro X as his software of choice.
In a live performance captured on YouTube, Miyavi is seen playing a Fender American Vintage Hot Rod '60s Telecaster. According to the video, Fender Japan provided him with this model after he had been using two custom-made LsL Telecasters.
This is a clean boost pedal Miyavi is using which is placed at the last position of the effect chain before the Fender Super Sonic amp.
Miyavi uses a hand-painted ZVEX Fuzz Factory at the end of his effects chain, A/B tested with the Shaffer Replica boost pedal, before connecting to a Marshall amp. This setup is depicted in a photo sourced from Cdninstagram.
In a YouTube video, Miyavi is seen using a Fender 1964 Miyavi Custom Telecaster, equipped with a Super-Vee Maverick Tremolo System and a Fernandes Sustainer FSK-401 Basic Pickup, during a performance of "Fire Bird."

In the image sourced from Freethetone, Miyavi's stage setup includes the Marshall JVM210H 100-Watt Tube Amplifier Head among three sets of amplifiers. He selects an acrylic resin board based on the stage size for optimal performance.

He uses 2 EVENTIDE/TIME FACTOR’s to create various sounds. The footswitch at the right front is used to control the TIME FACTOR’s. The center box is a selector to switch between the two TIME FACTOR’s.

Miyavi's main amp. Most of the sound comes out of this amp. Though he may use a Marshall amp in some lives as substitution of the Super Sonic.
The Super-Sonic series: High-performance, no-nonsense tube amps that create unmistakable Fender clean tones and expressive modern high-gain tones without masking the tonal character of the player’s guitar. The new 100-watt Super-Sonic Twin combo contains several sonically versatile new features, including an Arena/Club switch that takes the power down to 25 watts (to preserve its great high-volume tube tone at lower “club gig” volume levels); a Notch Tune control that lets you move the midrange notch and fine-tune the distortion characteristics for a variety of American and British amp sounds; a rear-panel damping control that lets you select “normal,” “loose” or “tight” speaker response for sounds ranging from warm and loose to tight and focused; and the new Fender Automatic Bias control, which lets you easily set the output tubes to the recommended factory setting and to your preference of “hotter” or “cooler” bias with no need for meters or tools.
Another amp of Miyavi's equipments. All sound through the two Timefactors, Roland SP-555, and Korg Kaoss Pad comes out of this amp.
New replacement for the 2nd gen Whammy Miyavi used to have on his board.
MIYAVI was seen using this headphones during 2016 while he produced Fire Bird.
In an interview with MusicRadar, Miyavi discusses his preference for acoustic guitars, mentioning the Taylor 616ce as a staple in his live performances and unplugged sessions. Despite challenges playing acoustic guitars live with a DJ, he consistently uses this Taylor guitar, appreciating its acoustic sound over electronic alternatives.
Miyavi uses the Marshall Super Lead 1959 amplifier as the final output in his effects chain, which concludes with a Fuzz Factory. This setup is documented in an image shared on Instagram.
Used since 2010 during live performance
Since Samurai Sessions Vol. 2, the guitar's overtones we hear are no longer coming from the Polyanna Octavia, but from EHX's POG unit.
