Super-Sonic Twin Review: When it's working well, the sound is luxurious and rich and... | Fender | Guitar Amplifiers | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

Fender's Super Sonic Twin 100W amp dazzles with its versatile tones and rich, luxurious sound, offering a range of classic Fender cleans and robust distortions. However, its appeal is marred by significant reliability issues, particularly the flawed auto-bias circuit and recurring fuse failures. While aesthetically stunning and flexible in sound, the amp's fragility undercuts its practicality, making it a risky choice for gigging musicians without a backup. Ultimately, it's a promising amp held back by frustrating build quality issues, better suited for studio use than the stage.

Fender Super-Sonic Twin Combo review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Fender Super-Sonic Twin 100W 2X12 Guitar Combo Amp is a robust and versatile offering that channels the classic Twin Reverb with modern flair. Praised for its exceptional build quality, it delivers pristine clean sounds and a wide range of distortion tones from its Burn channel. However, it’s quite expensive and its weight challenges the portability expected of combo amps. The Burn channel can be tricky to dial in, and the heavy damping might not suit everyone's taste. Nonetheless, for those seeking a professional-grade amp with a modern take on vintage Fender tones, this is a compelling choice.

Miyavi's main amp. Most of the sound comes out of this amp. Though he may use a Marshall amp in some lives as substitution of the Super Sonic.

The Super-Sonic series: High-performance, no-nonsense tube amps that create unmistakable Fender clean tones and expressive modern high-gain tones without masking the tonal character of the player’s guitar. The new 100-watt Super-Sonic Twin combo contains several sonically versatile new features, including an Arena/Club switch that takes the power down to 25 watts (to preserve its great high-volume tube tone at lower “club gig” volume levels); a Notch Tune control that lets you move the midrange notch and fine-tune the distortion characteristics for a variety of American and British amp sounds; a rear-panel damping control that lets you select “normal,” “loose” or “tight” speaker response for sounds ranging from warm and loose to tight and focused; and the new Fender Automatic Bias control, which lets you easily set the output tubes to the recommended factory setting and to your preference of “hotter” or “cooler” bias with no need for meters or tools.
