"And we really love the Teenage Engineering OP-1. Each of us has one. I had already played with it a lot, on airplanes and stuff. I make little ideas [on my own], but in the studio, I've also realized it's a really good sound generator. It sounds really digital, but in a nice way, an interesting way."

Feeding this desire to stray from the grid, II made use of a variety of sample and filter sources to achieve a sound that’s “sh*tty in a good way,” according to Ring. The eclectic list includes Roland Space Echo, Korg Stage Echo, Roland MC-202 MicroComposer, TR-77, and TR-808, Vermona DRM-1, Yamaha PSS-570 and VSS-30, CasioTone MT-70, Electro-Harmonix Big Muff pedal, various Boss pitch-shift pedals, Electro- Harmonix Memoryman, Simmons SDS 8 drum synthesizer, Sakae snare drum, Korg Monotribe, Roland Juno-60, Crumar Multiman-S, Waldorf Rocket, Korg MS-10 and Korg MS-50.
"There's my little modular system and I stole Szary's Arturia MiniBrute, which I'm using for a few songs. I re-programmed some sounds we used the modular for in the studio. It's nice because you have much more modulation moments. We have one part in Reminder, which we call the 'Chemical Brothers part' as it's full of modulation."
“This xox box is a self-made TB-303 bassline with special features like MIDI, DIN sync and USB and a more stable casing. It sounds very authentic, just like the original.
“Sometimes you really ask yourself how many bassline- clones you need in life. Somehow this simple bass sound is magic, with its typical ‘twittering’. I believe that this machine will never disappear.”
Moderat posted this picture to their facebook, in which a Korg MS 10 can be seen.

In this picture from an interview with Moderat you can see the Monotribe.
"I have a mixer [that receives] a lot of split signals from Sascha and Gernot, and I have distortion, two delays, and a little Waldorf Rocket synthesizer, which is very simple."
You can see Sascha's Nord Modular G2 in this picture. He also states in the interview "On the last tour, I used a Nord Modular, an old one, the G2. And I reprogrammed all the sounds, just because I wanted to have more access to the parameters. Only using samples was a little too limiting. {In the new live show,] I still use the Nord for the old sounds"

in this instagram post Szary is seen using a Mpc 1000 in rehearsal for the "Moderat 3" tour
In a Vine video clip, Modeselektor is seen using the Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano. Given Modeselektor's role in Moderat, it's likely that Moderat also utilizes this tabletop synthesizer.
Moderat employs the Moog Minimoog Voyager Rack Mount Edition, describing it as a "monophonic battleship" ideal for bass, as highlighted in their studio setup.
It was seen in the clip they posted when announcing their tour for MORE D4TA as well as several other posts on their insta
