Peter hook used a hiwatt custom 200 as the main amp head with his band "The Light". You can see the head with black tape ("Jack" is writen over it) covering the hiwatt logo.
In this YouTube video you can see Peter playing a Yamaha BB1200. He also mentions the 1200 in interviews. He had one before changing to the 1200S.

Peter Hook is confirmed to have used Rotosound RS66LD Swing Bass 45-105 strings during the Joy Division era, specifically on his Hondo Rickenbacker copy. This is evidenced in a televised performance of "She's Lost Control" on the "Something Else Show" in September 1979, where the distinct red silk ends characteristic of Rotosound strings are clearly visible on his bass.
