Richard Devine's Keyboards and Synthesizers
Richard Devine says [@ 7:21] about the Teenage Engineering OP-1:
“I really really dig this as a controller, strange sequencer, sampling manipulation device, and the synthesis modes are great. I find it to be a really awesome accessory to a MacBook or if you’re running any kind of sequencer like Cubase or Logic… it’s just a cool little device that just fits in your backpack and you pack up with your laptop and bust it out anytime and just start writing and generating ideas and sketches, and works really, really well…”
Richard Devine has the Elektron Octatrack on the floor of his Euro rack modular synth corner of his North Carolina-based studio. An image of it can be seen in the video (8:55).
The Octatrack is an 8 track performance sampler and features the following:
Instant Sampling & Remixing Radical Audio Manipulation Possibilities Real-time Pitch Scaling and Time Stretch Next Generation Elektron Step Sequencer Dual Assignable FX Per Track Assignable Multi-Parameter Crossfader

In the YouTube video (@ 4:36), Richard Devine says about the Glitchmachines Logic Bomb: “This is basically a Casio synth keyboard and basically you ‘glitch’ the sound by turning the joystick knobs around… matrix breakout that works with a parallel cable and also a bunch of bend points that you can trigger that work in tandem while you’re playing different sequences and sounds and manipulating the joysticks gives this strange, chaotic, cacophony of strange noises and digital blips and bleeps; it’s an awesome machine.”
Richard Devine discusses that he uses the Moog Minitaur in this YouTube video (8:06):
“This is my Moog analog bass machine that I been using with my laptop (via USB)... I love the portability and the small form factor and very nicely laid out... fat rich sound and mixes really really well."

Richard Devine says @12:17 that the late/great, Tim Adams built him the Chaos Synthesizer: “These touch sensors change the sound - the amplitude/modulation between oscillators… I’ve actually blown a PA system with this particular box. It’s a very dangerous box to use live, but very very cool."
