"Line 6 is at the cutting edge of creative guitar technology. They empower guitarists with tools to make sounds that the masters of the psychedelic era could only dream of! Now, we can not only emulate the sounds of the past, but we can create contemporary and futuristic sounds. I have a James Tyler Variax guitar, POD 500 and consistently use the M9 stompbox modeler which gives me access to literally hundreds of unique pedals and effects, and allows me to have extraordinary control. I also make loops using its built-in world class looper. Its exciting to think of what Line 6 will build next!"

Mentioned in Step Audio's "Who We Are" page.

Over the years, Bill had been in electronica bands, and had programmed lots of MIDI gear including drum machines, sequencers, and samplers. There seemed to be a huge vacuum waiting to be filled with MIDI-controlled guitar effects. The next year or so was spent developing Molten MIDI 2, which eventually found its way onto the pedalboards of Ed O'Brien, Vernon Reid, and thousands of other players around the world. Bill's pitch-shifting sequencer was the first of many revolutionary ideas, including Tempode, CTL-Sync, Big Muff MIDI, Delaytion, and SIXY, which have since been emulated by other companies.
