Avicii

Avicii frequently uses the stock sounds in Nexus when coming up with ideas for leads, chords, and melodies in his tracks.

At the 0:07 mark in the video, you can see Avicii recording the vocals for "Taste the Feeling" in Logic Pro on his laptop. While his primary DAW was FL Studio, he used Logic Pro X for the vocal recordings, as indicated by some visible clues.

"I use V-Moda Crossfades. I just think they look good—cool style. I know the guy who makes them; he gives me custom-fitted stuff, and the sound is amazing."

Avicii is clearly using FL Studio throughout this video, Avicii in the studio - The Making of Dancing In My Head.

Also in this April 2013 Tweet, when asked what age he started producing and with what software, Avicii says:

"15-16 years old, FL studio. I learned everything myself just by watching youtube tutorials and hanging on forums and stuff!"

He can also be seen working in FL Studio in this video, Avicii: Complete Compilation Of The March 2018 Sessions.

Avicii tweeted "Just got my Sennheiser HD 800 headphones, wow the sound is INSANE!"

He seems to have since switched to V-Moda headphones.

Avicii travels with a MacBook Pro, but runs Windows on it with Boot Camp since he produces using FL Studio.

In the video burn #residency - Masterclass: Avicii, at 3:11 Avicii can be seen opening up a track in Cubase, running on his MacBook Pro.

When asked what headphones he uses for working and travelling, Avicii responded, "sennheiser hd25! Or v-modas."

TruePianos are seen in Avicii in the studio at 2:37.

At 2:58, Avicii can be seen using Avid Pro Tools to edit Aloe Blacc's vocals for Wake Me Up

In this image, towards the bottom, you can see he is using two samples from this pack, "HK HH CL 023" and "HK SP Snap 12".

At 16:20, you can see Avicii choosing his loops from the FL Studio file browser. There is a folder called MUB2 which stands for Mutekki Ultimate Beats v2

In this photo posted by Avicii to his Facebook, you can see him playing what looks to be a custom Fender acoustic guitar. Avicii writes, "Big parts of my new album 'Stories' came together in situations like this. #STORIES"

The point at the end of the fretboard and the lack of a pickguard make this specific model distinct from any of the dreadnoughts in Fender's product line.

In the YouTube video "DJ Mag Tech Awards 2013 | Headphones | V Moda Crossfade M 100" Avicii can be seen wearing a pair of customized V-Moda M-100 headphones.

Avicii can be seen using the Classic Master Limiter from Kjaerhus Audio starting at 8:20 in this video from Future Music.

Avicii pulls up a section of the Rob Papen Albino 3 Software Synthesizer at 3:58 in this video.

On his Instagram, Avicii posts a photo of his Teenage Engineering OP-1 Portable Synthesizer with the caption, "OP1 is the shit!" (posted August 2015).

In this Tweet posted around the same time, Avicii says, "Finnally playtime".

Although Avicii produces mostly using software, some hardware such as this Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II preamp and compressor can be seen in his studio.

At 12:20 in his video with Future Music, VintageWarmer 2 can be seen when choosing a plugin for the effects chain.

The RME Fireface UC USB Audio Interface can be seen mounted on a rack in Avicii's studio.

This M-Audio Keystation 88es 88-key MIDI controller is how Avicii writes his chords and melodies, and is his primary MIDI keyboard controller. This is from the article, In Pictures: Avicii's Stockholm studio.

In the YouTube video "Avicii in the studio - The Making of Dancing In My Head," Avicii uses the Lennar Digital Sylenth1 Software Synthesizer, highlighting its significance in his production process.

"I use [Native Instruments] Massive a lot, too. I do enjoy tweaking Massive; that’s fun, you can do a lot with that synth."
