"Yeah, it's a Gibson J-45. It's a new guitar, but it's called the Antique Range, which is slightly confusing, but I'm a fully signed-up Gibson endorsee guy these days. They're great.

I mean, my reason for switching to them full time was at least partly influenced by their infrastructure. For instance, I have some really fantastic bespoke guitars that I like — in particular, a guitar that's made by one guy who's a luthier who lives in North Wales, Patrick James Eggle. It's one of the nicest guitars I've ever played in my life, but he's one guy. If I break a guitar in Melbourne, Australia, there's essentially nothing he can do about it.

The other thing about Gibson is that I beat the crap out of my guitars live — like, really. So live, I play a pair of Gibson Hummingbirds. They sound good and they play good and everything, but a big part of it for me is just that I can also throw pretty much anything at them and — touch wood — thus far, they've survived."

According to Premier Guitar, the orange-burst Gibson Hummingbird is one of his two Gibson Hummingbirds he uses on stage. He wanted a guitar that would be road worthy. Frank likes to move around on stage, and swing his guitar around. Other acoustic guitars he has used would get damaged more frequently.

The electric guitar Turner uses is his Gibson ES-Les Paul in arctic white colour. Frank was sent this guitar by Gibson to use live. He needed a guitar that not only had the tone he liked, but was light enough for his liking. Frank states that he found out the guitar was a prototype doe a line that gibson never ended up releasing. Frank states that he had his guitar tech unwire the neck pickup and the pickup selecter. He did this because he never uses the neck pickup, and would accidentally switch pickups

For his amplifier, Turner uses the Kemper Profiler guitar head. he uses the kemper for songs where he uses a electric guitar rather than his acoustic

In the video Frank comes in with the pictured guitar and moves on to the natural finish version. In an interview with Syffal back in 2010 he says "My main guitar is a custom build, made for me by Patrick Eggle, partly built from an English Walnut tree that grew in the valley where I was raised. So it's pretty f*ing special, and it plays and sounds something awesome as well." But in 2014, he made the switch to Gibson Hummingbirds because "if [he] fks up a guitar (reasonably regular occurrence) in, say, New Zealand, Gibson can sort me out overnight, whereas Patrick, with the best will in the world, cannot. It made sense. Hummingbirds are also fucking delightful guitars to play. I still have my original Eggle and treasure it as my favourite."

In an Instagram post, Frank Turner is pictured rehearsing with the Sleeping Souls, playing an Epiphone Hummingbird acoustic guitar. Frank is known for his appreciation of Hummingbird acoustics.

For complementing the acoustic pickups, Turner uses the Fishman Aura Spectrum DI Box. He has two of these Di Boxes on his pedal board at all times incase one breaks down. he uses a stock humingbird modeling tone to get close to the organic sound of the guitar.
