George Lynch's Gear
George Lynch’s guitar tech, Jerry Ganaden, talks about the Marshall ’68 Plexi in this video interview from Premier Guitar. At 3:30. he says, “That’s a ’68 Plexi. It’s bone stock. There’s a lot of people that speculate that it’s been modded at some point, but it hasn’t been. Some of the guys that have done work on this amp, to either do maintenance or even restore it, look at it and it’s like it doesn’t need anything. It’s just a straight up bone stock amp.”
“I just did this tour with Yngwie,” he continues, “and I must have gone through ten overdrive pedals, and some of them are $1,000 pedals, but I always had my DS-1 right there onstage at every show. And I know a lot of players who use DS-1s — a lot of the big guys out there. You’d probably think, ‘I bet they’re using $1,200 vintage tube screamers or boutique pedals,’ but in a lot of cases we’re just using store-bought DS-1s.”
George Lynch’s Boss GE-10 can be seen at 1:00 in this video interview from Premier Guitar.
In December 2013, George Lynch posted this on his website :
"Hey everyone. Happy holidays. George needs your help to recover a Soldano head that was stolen in 1993. The head missing is the gray one (not snakeskin) on the bottom in this photo. The manifest serial number is 88051. This is the amp used for the Wicked Sensation sessions and is the best sounding Soldano George has ever used in his own words. If anyone has any details on this amp, please email us at [email protected] thank you!"
ENGL Straight head can be seen in this video @ 3:25 This head was sold on reverb here: https://reverb.com/item/19214231-engl-straight-100-e504-head-george-lynch-owned
At 1:49 in this video from Premier Guitar, George Lynch’s guitar tech, Jerry Ganaden, discusses George Lynch G2G from Zoom. He says, “That’s a multiple effect pedal developed by Zoom and George. It has 40 presets that George wrote. A lot of them emulate some of George’s recorded tones over the past twenty years. Some of the more stable tones that are in it are the tones from Mr. Scary and the intro to Dream Warriors.”
He continues, “There’s also the other stuff that he has been using through the years like a Seek Wah function and also a preset whammy function that he does on a lot of the solos especially on the new [Souls of We] record. There’s forty presets written by George and then there’s 40 user presets that can be customized by the user. It’s a pretty cool pedal.”
In the official video for KXM's "Scatterbrain," George Lynch is seen playing an ESP Telecaster with a Floyd Rose tremolo bar, using a Metz Amplifier Head.
George states on the Daddario website that he uses their strings.
George Lynch’s guitar tech, Jerry Ganaden, talks about the Cusack Screamer at 1:15 in this video from Premier Guitar. He says “The Cusack Screamer is of the tube screamer type of variety. This particular pedal adds a little bit of push to it before it hits the input stage of the amp.”
2008 Tour Gear "The signal flow is the same as it has been from the previous two tours: What’s new in the rig is the prototype of the Morley Dragon 2 Wah , a Boss CE-5 chorus pedal and the Boss, OC-2 octave divider. "

George changes equipment like underwear. On his 2004 tour, I personally carried his Echoplex EP3 back to his tour bus after a gig. He also has an Echoplex tube EP2 that he has used.
Used extensively since Breaking the Chains, as mentioned in the description of this July 14, 2021 video. It is also mentioned by Equipboard user ath1024 in the notes of the Equipboard submission for Lynch's EP-3.

“@georgelynchofficial 65 bassman head into Hiwatt cab. Pedal pawn Texan Twang into EP2 Echoplex - I prefer digital delay to tape for distorted soloing but I love the preamping effect echoplex has on a tube amp. I’ve used this particular one on almost every recording since breaking the chains.”

All of the guitars on that record (REvolution) were recorded pretty straight forward and without a lot of overdubs or effects. There are two rhythm tracks on all of the songs, one done with a Bogner Uberschall and the other with a Diesel VH4. Both are really nice amps and very similar in tone.
