Review & Video: Behringer CMD MM-1, PL-1 and DC-1 DJ Controllers

digitaldjtips.com

The Behringer CMD PL-1 is a modular DJ controller that offers flexibility and portability at an affordable price, making it a potential boon for DJs looking to customize their setup. However, while its intuitive out-of-the-box mappings for Traktor and Deckadance are a plus, the unit suffers from clunky, non-velocity-sensitive pads and a jogwheel with noticeable latency in Deckadance. The build quality is decent, with smooth faders and bright backlit buttons, but the deck assign indicator is hard to see. Overall, it's a decent choice for DJs ready for a more complex setup, but not the best option for beginners or those seeking simplicity in an all-in-one controller.

Got two of those bastards, and they're fly as fuck.

To be honest, in a setup wit two controllers, there's a small problem with Traktor because the software recognizes only one on booting. Therefore, I must go to the controller manager and reset the mapping to both controllers. I used a mapping downloaded from the Traktor Bible, which is really great because of all the secondary functions the maker of the mapper included. If there are questions, I'll answer! It's a great controller with a extremely sensitive top-platter. Combined with traktor it's even good enough to actually scratch and so forth. The controllers, just like the MM-1 only feel quite plastic and don't look like they're very high quality but the standard of engaged materials is really good in comparison to it's price.
